If hundreds walk off the job, that's hundreds with no legal recourse. Never quit a job over a dispute, make them fire you. Making it their job to get rid of you also eats up their resources. Being fired instead of quitting also extends the process and makes it harder to find your replacement.
Like I mentioned, if there are enough teachers willing to participate in a walkout, it's highly doubtful the school would terminate all those teachers. Now, I could possibly be wrong, depending on the district, but it would send a direct message to the city and school board.
We still have bills to pay. You walk out you can't collect unemployment while you wait. Not like we're swimming in cash, I can sell some of my silver and stocks to get by for a while, but a lot have kids, spouse, mortgages and taxes, etc
Exactly this!
Forget that, be walked out. Then litigate.
If you get enough teachers to walk out, you could see much quicker results than through litigation. Just MO.
