Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, opened up about Robert Mueller's "heartbreaking" lack of acuity in a forthcoming book, which includes revelations about the special counsel appointed during the Trump-Russia probe.
Mueller, now 76, was appointed special counsel in May 2017 after former President Donald Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Although Schiff writes that he pursued Mueller to deliver his July 2019 testimony, the reality was "heartbreaking" to Schiff when he struggled to answer basic questions.
"Had I known how much he had changed, I would not have pursued his testimony with such vigor — in fact, I would not have pursued it at all," Schiff wrote in his upcoming book Midnight in Washington, according to CNN. Schiff, a California Democrat who became a liberal champion during the first impeachment probe and an enemy to conservatives who parroted Trump's rebuff of a "Russia hoax," admitted that he instructed Democrats on the committee to simplify their questioning strategy after the first session to accommodate Mueller's cognitive inhibitions.
"No questions calling for a narrative answer," Schiff told the committee, according to his book. "No multipart questions. If you think your question may be too long, it is. Cut it down."
The leading special counsel ultimately did not issue a conclusion on whether Trump obstructed justice, leaving it to then-Attorney General William Barr to decide.
Mueller's team did not charge Trump or anyone on his campaign with conspiring with the Russian government during the 2016 election. Still, prosecutors said the campaign "expected it would benefit" from Russia's interference in the election. In his testimony, Mueller underscored, "The president was not exculpated."
Trump touted Mueller's testimony as "horrible." "I don't think anybody could have done a good performance, he had no material," the former president said on July 24, 2019. The former president was impeached in the House on charges of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress but was acquitted in the Senate on Feb. 5, 2020.
What is so absolutely wonderful, unlike Mueller and Biden, Adam Schiff will know exactly what is happening to him when the floor drops out from under him.
And I'll have the biggest smile on my face!!!!
Could be tears of happiness knowing we have won back our country from these "Dirt Bags."
I’m not a drinker, but I will enjoy a glass of 25yo scotch on the day Schiff goes to meet his maker.
Nothing better, except to have it with a fine cigar ... Churchhill for me.
Oh yeah!
I just hope we get to witness it as the floor drops out from under him.
Schiff has lived for years, every day, every hour, knowing exactly what is going to happen to him, and he still has to try and hope for some miracle. He knows damn well that it is all about what he has done that he doesn't want public as opposed to anything Trump has done. He hasn't been able to fully shut his eyes since then.
Last time Mueller spoke in congress (i think it was congress), he seemed to be slow to respond to anything. At that moment I KNEW they were gonna play the cognitive decline card for Mueller when it mattered.
Hilarious they are quick to claim Mueller is suffering from cognitive decline but no one will admit the same for Biden.
I thought it was just a stall tactic to eat up their allotted time.
Mueller Was Flipped On The Day Trump Brought him to the White House For The First Time.
very possible, for sure.
when was this?
flipped? how so?
Or they are prepping for mueller to be indited. So he can play like he is not mentally fit to testify.
Mueller was a marine.
I would not be surprised if "Had I known how much he had changed, I would not have pursued his testimony with such vigor — in fact, I would not have pursued it at all,”
means Schiff was an idiot and didn’t realize Mueller was playing them as a double agent.
problem is, Robert Mueller was the point man on the 9/11 cover up.
He is a DS POS, to the core, imo.
i dont get this muller was a double agent tanget in this thread. why are people thinking this now?
I honestly don’t really know what to think.
It’s possible Mueller is DS and his entire investigation was a fraud with nothing more to it.
However, with the Q drops about the Mueller investigation opening the conversation around Ukraine and FISA/being a way to get around the “blockade,” I am curious to learn if he was working for the Patriots of his own volition or if he just fell into their chess trap and became a useful pawn that was eventually removed when his mission failed.
He didn’t find what “they” were looking for against Trump, after all. And when he failed to produce anything damning, it seemed like TPTB were surprised.
They hyped up bullshit all that time with no evidence, and they knew it. His ‘cognitive decline’ is a cover for a weak performance and softball questions so it just played out as a nothing burger instead of the NPCs wondering why they were lied to.
Or, he FLIPPED and so he'll be dead soon.
LOL ....a book from Adam Schiff. Instead of "Midnight in Washington" he should write the book about "Midnight and sheer panic at the Standard Hotel and my history of dress-up parties" also how about a wild tell-all about those Ed Buck parties?
Schiff is pissed at Mueller because he didn’t write in his report that Trump was guilty. I think this is the start of the DS punishing him for his failure
Sounds like shift is explaining why Mueller was unable to prove President Trump was guilty, because he wasn’t “the man he used to be” & not that President Trump was innocent. I hate that bulgy eyed monster. We need justice soon so I never have to see or hear of him again. (I really hate shift if you hadn’t noticed).
If he flips he'll be dead soon
So, Robert Mueller did not commit suicide.
