For two years I have avoided places where Covid protocols are followed. Walked out of a hairdresser's after being sprayed, told to put on a mask and was not allowed to hang up my coat or given the customary drink of coffee or mineral water.
Avoided getting an eye test for the same reason but decided it was time to get one. Called for an appointment: will I have to wear a mask? Yes. In that case, no thanks.
After a minute's thought I decided it was time to fight back. Called back, thankfully I got the optician instead of the receptionist. Will the person doing eye tests be wearing a mask? Yes. Have they had the jab? Yes. So why do I need to wear one, are they not protected?
Guide lines. Against what? The pandemic. What pandemic, where are the makeshift mortuaries and mass graves? Don't you think its time to end this charade? Then pointed out that masks don't work etc.
He warned me that if I continued he would terminate the call. I said I have a mask exemption, and his response was he would check and get back to me. Time to challenge, not just walk away. This has to end. SPEAK OUT.
Speaking out is fine but I think a better strategy than speaking out to people are who unreceptive is to focus on setting up alternative business relationships.
Find an eye doctor who’s not a liberal drone.
Find as many based alternatives as possible and do business with them.
And, once you've found these based businesses, spread the word!
Nice idea but I don't have time to go looking for a needle in a haystack. These guys are the best - there are many who are nowhere near as good. Will see how far I get with my exemption.
I didn't necessarily mean you, in particular, but anyone who finds a based business -- pass it on.
I wish there was some sort of online guide or a list by state and city of places that don't require the masks or vax or whatever.
I wonder if I could put something together that people could update like a wiki or something.
Places offering a service that necessitates close contact with clients will be the last to stop the protocols. There are more people who are afraid and expect the "safeguards" that those who know the facts. The sad thing is, people are getting used to the damned masks. Habits are hard to break.
Yes, I agree but its easier said than done. compliance to NHS diktats in the UK is total, from what I can see.
Maybe try naturopathic doctors if there are any. I am seeing a chiropractor here in US and they don't do the masks unless you prefer, so optional, no jabs either at least for the man running the place. His employees may be jabbed, who knows. I know it doesn't help with an eye doctor. I have a feeling they will spring up as this goes and more people refuse to abide by the dictates.
People need to be told its OK not to wear a mask - most are scared to stand out. That's the impression I get when I ask someone why they are wearing one. Many timid souls out there. I leave them with a few facts about the dangers and hope that persuades them to stop.
Exactly this!
I'm reluctant to get into a back and forth with someone over their mandates. Their business, their right...just as it is my right to walk away.
But, by calling around I was able to find an eye doctor, dentist, and veterinarian who didn't require a mask. My hair dresser dropped the mandate when several clients, myself included, pointed out that a new competitor down the road wasn't requiring them. I turned away from a nail salon over the weekend because they had a mask sign on the door. The owner literally chased my down and asked me to return.
It takes some leg work to find out who's requiring silly protocols and who isn't. It might be harder in a blue state or area.
Yeah that’s their problem. I choose not to do business with easily brainwashed conservatives too.
