Resources? This is a bad obsession, when this man is not messaging her or coming to see her, she is neurotic and unhinged. She used to be vibrant, a little crazy like all of us, God fearing, and very content. Now she's crying or angry all the time. She herself admits this isn't marriage material or an actual relationship candidate and that it's a mental problem (she is 60, so she should know)
She is Christian and she is praying every single day, but prayer and meditation aren't fixing it. If she's not doing something productive she is listless and does not exhibit the fruits of the spirit. I feel so bad for her
Perhaps a devotional plan that is more structured than loose Prayer? An advice book? I'm looking for patriot approved ideas and solutions..especially since self help and philosophy stuff online is super liberal or not in line with the gospel
At the very least, I ask our prayer warriors to petition God can help her be free of this problem. Please pray for her, I can't give her name or identity to me, but I ask for prayers that will help her overcome this and find peace
I will pray, but is it possible early dementia could be at play here?
She's not obsessed, she's trauma bonded. Only she would be able to break that cycle. It is hard and there's probably more going on under the surface, but still nothing anyone else can do. I've been through all of that...extremely toxic and eventually had a gun pressed to my head, after being strangled a few times. My kids woke up and saw the gun to my head and started crying, which I know saved my life. Keep her in your prayers, and I will say a special prayer for her as well.
At her age, her copper chemistry could be screwed up. Look into the Walsh Protocol for mental health. This will involve getting a blood test for copper, zinc, histamine, and maybe a urine test for kryptopyrrole. All can be done online and with a visit to Labcorp. Find a Walsh practitioner to guide her to the right supplement plan.

I used to be a bit agitated, and I prayed about it. God led me to the Walsh material and after supplementing, I could sleep and felt rejuvenated. A few years later, the knowledge would change my kids life.
Additionally, a hair mineral test might reveal further what is going on with her biochemistry.
What you are describing is someone who's brain is under extreme oxidative stress. Guilt for not having it together will just make it worse. The good news is that there is relief, you just have to search it out
IMO mental health is seperate from spirit, God can fix all but I feel like mental health is one of those things we are forgiven for since this world can really screw us up. Depending on what problem she is having this might not be appropriate but Richard Grannon on youtube helped me with my past bad relationship. Now he does say he is nit better then a personal therapist and his advice is general so it may not be appropriate and also dont get addicted to continual self help/fixation on solving the "problem" forever. I will pray for you both.
Maybe she needs less prayer and meditation and needs to figure herself out. This may seem counter productive, but the reality is we are not spiritual creatures in this form of existence. As such we do in fact need to pace ourselves when it comes to the Spiritual realm. It is not always a place of good things. In fact, evil entities exploit the connection and sometimes can latch themselves permanently.
I know this goes against typical religious perspectives, but the truth is those people hardly know shit about Spirituality. Demons CAN use your connection to God to get through especially if you are born out of wedlock. No, I don't mean a piece of paper magically fixes you, marriage is of the heart, but if you are born out of lust and not love, well... you're more susceptible to bad energies and entities.
I hope and pray the best for your friend, but remaining in bondage to what you have been told is not going to get her the help she needs.
I will pray for her. Take a look. There are quite a few good therapy type programs on youtube..sorry. does she have work or outside activities to keep herself busy? Also , there is a book called The 12 steps for Christians. Very useful to overcome unhealthy addictions. People, shopping, eating,.... Depression, loneliness, isolation because of this scam we are living thru sucks but there is help available. If she will talk to you be a good listener. Mental health is serious. You sound like a good friend. Best wishes.
obsessions come in when we're not protected with prayer; hence why Q posted the Armor of God prayer so many times. we're in a spiritual battle, and prayer is our weapon.
I like listening to older preachers as they seem to have a better understanding of deliverance. Derek Prince is really interesting, but there's also a younger man named Vlad... you'd have to search for, but he's good too.

I am older and was alone most of my life. When I was married I didnt even realize how I was controlled and abused. I had no self esteem and felt like I couldnt do better than I got. Nobody loved me. After 3 years I had enough and divorced.
After a while in self pity I started filling my life with other things.....charity work got me started, then gradually closer and closer to the Lord.
One habit I got into and still do, I really like Joyce Meyer. I record her show and every morning in bed I watch an episode and see if I can apply something taught that day. She is up beat, common sense and if she can get through what happened to her, I sure can get through 1 day.
One thing I can say is I find I have done much better, happier, more prosperous ALONE.
I would try a nearby Christian Counselor: Check with the counselor to ensure he or she is liberty minded, or a Christian psychiatrist. I would interview the person first myself though.
Do you know what kind of meditation she is practicing? It also takes approximately 7 weeks of near daily meditation for the benefits to start to show.
Does she do any breathing practices(pranayamas)? I highly recommend Wim Hof's method, either the normal pace or the slower beginners pace. Wim Hof's was like rocket fuel for me finding inner peace and my spiritual growth. If she can breath out of her nostrils, then I recommend her practicing Alternate Nostril Breathing(Nadi Shodhana Pranayama).

If she's busy judging herself all the time, maybe introduce her to Alan Watts. I'm not a Christian(and neither is he), but I've discovered and have come closer to God through his teachings. After Watts, I also have a greater appreciation for what Christ had done.

I'm not sure I would turn to the internet for a problem that seems to need the attention of a professional, especially if the God and/or meditation route isn't working.
That's the best advice you will get : Refer the situation to a (mental health?) professional.
Easier said than done. Difficult to get appointments....
Dear Abby?? Tell her to grow the fuck up.
Not helpful.
