Lol we actually did have some high winds this week to be fair. No clue if they were high enough to impact air travel but my fucking recycling got blown over and they just skipped my house. I had never seen
ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
until last week on my weather widget. The first time they blamed the weather I didn't hear any one chime in about actual bad weather so at least they found something real to blame this time, assuming those wind speeds are legitimately impactful on air travel of course lol.
Well, that's good that you have 31L/13R and 31R/13L so it's not a direct crosswind and would probably reduce the crosswind component down to a 32kt crosswind which is well within the limits of a 37 and 57.
I don’t live near the city, but it was nasty all around us yesterday. Lots of power outages and flooding. The airport near me is an American hub, and likely had at least some issues with flooding due to where it is situated.
I doubt the weather is the full reason for all of the cancellations, but I am sure it contributed at least somewhat.
LOL at blaming the weather once again.

How would you feel if I told you that the "drop in a small amount of elevation" was more like 100-200 ft at a time?
I currently fly a piper archer and have still been flying
Winds in DFW were gusting 50 miles an hour straight out of the west. That’s one hell of a crosswind!
