At this point I think the best frame to put around Liberals is that of the cruel middle-aged control freak in a constant moral panic. It’s basically obvious to anyone outside their bubble that this is what they have become, but they themselves cannot see it. Most of them are still using political frames from the 1990s, like Republican = for the rich and Democrat = for the poor.

Instead this modern frame uses a lot of descriptors they hate to see themselves as. Like cruel. If you use the word “cruel” to describe a Liberal, they really freak out. They basically sees themselves as incapable of cruelty so this one comes out of nowhere for them, but at the same time they get extremely defensive. I think it’s because they feel found out and quickly go into angry denial mode to prevent anyone else from seeing it too. This reaction then re-affirms the description. “Bully” also works here.

“Middle-aged” is good because Liberals like to see themselves as youthful. But they also know they are aging and when the generations under them start pointing and laughing at them on social media apps they don’t even have, they feel super uncool. Liberals are extremely self-conscious about being seen as cool (not being mocked) so this one really bothers them. They also know they cannot meme and cannot be edgy (because edginess is offensive) so again, their own behavior affirms the description.

“Control freak” works because Liberals like to see themselves as carefree and easy-going. They were able to fool people for awhile on this one because they are so into sexual degeneracy, which appeared to normies as being carefree and easygoing. But that is ‘90s politics. Liberals now know they are the authoritians and with Covid, their authoritarianism has gone toxic. They are now high school hall monitors demanding everyone else show them their papers and follow all their ridiculous rules. And their only way out of this frame is to not be this way and lighten up about Covid, which is what we want.

“Moral panic” is better than mass hysteria because Liberals love the fear of Covid so telling them they are hysterical about it is almost a compliment. They usually own it and bridge to how dangerous Covid is. But telling them they are in a moral panic? They hate that because they are anti-morality (they see morality as Christian tyranny) so being associated with morality really bothers them. They can’t even double down on this one like they do hysteria because it would bother them too much to “own” morality as a concept or ideal.
