Facts. I prefer to go with "college educated", because "highly educated" sort of gives off the impression of being pretentious and looking down on others for not having the degrees you may have.
Also, highly educated doesn't necessarily correlate with intelligent or successful.
Is highly educated a masters degree or is it 4 bachelors in performing arts and a minor in spanish? Clearly she is not a Doctor or she would not say highly educated
Education teaches less intelligent people to think in ways that more intelligent people do naturally, you can teach a monkey to drive a car but that doesn't mean you can expect it to teach itself how to ride a motorcycle...
Most people only read headlines, but at least you can get the headlines right. I don't have the time or inclination to read every link/article/post here.
I work at a hospital and everyone here seems to equate education with being smart. If you challenge someone over the phone they immediately ask what you do so they can try to use their position as leverage.
I’ve heard the same comment from my husband’s stepmother (a NOT very nice lady and my least favorite person on earth!) because she is a retired nurse and thought she knew everything but took the jab and is an athiest. She likes to emphasize that I am uneducated because I call a sock a sock rather than a stocking and I believe in God and I only went a tear into college because I was on my own and couldn’t afford it. She can be a complete B.
Tbh I think that was a way of saying, “I bought into the propaganda” I don’t think she meant it in that way but I could be wrong. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt though.
People who throw out the term "highly educated" are progressive assholes 100% of the time.
Decent people do not call themselves "highly educated", even if they are in fact highly educated.
If you don't say stupid shit all the time then there is no need to announce to others that you are smart. Actions > words.
this.
smart people don't have to tell anyone they're smart. the other smart people just know, and the dumb people would never know in the first place.
Yeah its kind of obvious when you are conversing with a smart person, don't need to announce it or wear a badge.

neither does "college educated" at this point. ;)
A wise man once said "the ability to speak does not make you intelligent". Lol it would be good for the liberal lefties to keep that in mind
They tend to equate highly credentialed with highly educated. One does not necessarily lead to the other.
The good news: the sophomoric sophisticates are starting to see.
Is highly educated a masters degree or is it 4 bachelors in performing arts and a minor in spanish? Clearly she is not a Doctor or she would not say highly educated
Education has zero do to with wisdom.
There are millions of educated idiots running around, as these idiots have shown.
Education teaches less intelligent people to think in ways that more intelligent people do naturally, you can teach a monkey to drive a car but that doesn't mean you can expect it to teach itself how to ride a motorcycle...
Having worked in a top program in a major university, ive never met so many stupid fucking people.
Make that "highly indoctrinated".
This right here! Nailed it.
These fuckers only read news headlines. TBH, I don't think they can even read.
More true than you know- functional literacy rates of incoming freshmen have been dropping steadily for many years, never mind reading comprehension.
They don’t even teach penmanship, simple home economics, english sentence structure, reading or writing or American History like they used to.

When I see "educated" I think "indoctrinated."
i think she has 'educated' and 'indoctrinated' mixed up.

Well they can't admit they mean "highly indoctrinated"
Which is how you know she isn't perceptive at all.
