Can anybody explain to me how this statement is racist, because I don't get it.
It is not racist in the slightest. While he said "Asian food" it had no actual reference to Asian people or culture in any way. The reference was meant to highlight that he did not want said food to take forever to get there, I.E. the ships stuck in the harbor that can't offload cargo.
His literal statement in different words: "I hope the Asian food doesn't take too long to be delivered."
If anything, he was also implying he liked Asian food...

What is the correct nomenclature?
Did the judge's comment reveal somehow he thinks poorly of Asians?

Maybe not the wisest thing to say. Why give ammo to the opposition and possibly affect the jury in a negative way? Not sure if his mobile ringtone story is true, if it is then this could be worrying. Maybe I'm overthinking this, but it does not seem right somehow.
Absolutely, but my worry is that he may prejudice some jury members by his behaviour. A judge has to be strictly impartial and beyond reproach.
I get it and concur. But the law has very strict guidelines for good reason. At the end the judge will give directions to the jury by doing a summary of the proceedings (I guess the procedure is the same in the US as the UK). If his actions have caused any bias to be activated in them: people are biased, whether they know it or not - the smallest detail can turn them against someone, his directions may not be followed. Seen this happen in cases where a judge tried to push trough a verdict and the jury refused.
So now we cannot make fun of food without offending somebody? If I suggest my tacos might get held up at the border, or my NY pizza is in quarantine, that would be....racist?
It's irrelevant to the case, but in a time when FEELZ are more important than LOGIC, this is all the Progs have left.... RACISM!!!
Asia is a continent. It includes Russia and India. The term Asian is not a reference to a singular ethnicity. There are 13 distinct ethnicities in China alone. Lumping everyone that lives in the continent of Asia as a single "race" is racist. I put "race" in quotation marks because there is only one race of people on this planet. There are different ethnicities, not different races. We are the Human Race.
But two Bidens are on record saying Negro and Nick Ghur.
These people are bullies.
What's the difference at this point this entire trial is about racism
