Writing on The New Order of Things Machiavelli said;
And let it be noted that there is no more delicate matter to take in hand, nor more dangerous to conduct, nor more doubtful in its success, than to set up as a leader in the introduction of changes. For he who innovates will have for his enemies all those who are well off under the existing order of things, and only the lukewarm supporters in those who might be better off under the new. This lukewarm temper arises partly from the fear of adversaries who have the laws on their side and partly from the incredulity of mankind, who will never admit the merit of anything new, until they have seen it proved by the event.
The OP quote is similar to the message I heard in todays Church reading. I don’t usually quote the Bible but the below encouraged me today
2Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake; some shall live forever, others shall be an everlasting horror and disgrace. 3But the wise shall shine brightly like the splendor of the firmament, And those who lead the many to justice shall be like the stars forever.
Daniel 12: 2-3
In my mind, the people who recognize the tyranny, yet choose to remain silent, timid, cowards, are worse than the still asleep (for now) sheep who don't know any better.
When safe the timid join in mass and hijack the whole movement and in time their natural timidness will give cause for the patriot to be hated and scorned all over again.
C'mon, timid folk. Time to get on board. No judgement just get on and let's go.
Pedal to the Metal.
Agreed. A great man once asked us, "WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE?"
Our shackles? Our prisons? Our divisions? Our hatred? Our fear? Our disabling comfort? Our spinelessness?
Let freedom start! Even if it involves my own death, today is as good a day as any...
Machiavelli had similar thoughts:
Amazing. I keep being driven to the lukewarm souls verses in the Bible. Maybe bc im surrounded by the lukewarm
Be on fire with the Lord Jesus Christ. Light the path with Him set the trails a blaze

Yes, this is so true...no doubt. Here's another of my favorites...
"Five percent of the people think, ten percent think they think, but the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think!" Thomas Edison
