Excellent observation, PaNix. I've been searching tonight for riots across the country. Nothing.
There are protests in NYC as mentioned by a couple people here, but as best I can tell they're pretty tame and not very large relative to previous protests in NYC.
I am pleasantly, wonderfully shocked by this development. But I can think of no other reason for this than what you stated. Perhaps people really are waking up.
ADDENDUM: I also can't help but wonder if the riots are at least in part absent due to the dismantling of their funding, training, coordination infrastructure by the white hats within military intel.
How many times did we see during the riots of last year that there were signs of plain clothes operators embedded within the crowds? How many stories did we hear of Soros-funded buses dropping people off, ads in news papers ahead of time to pay protestors/rioters, etc? Perhaps part of the peace and quiet is due to their infrastructure being neutralized.
I have zero proof to back this up. Purely a theory with a little hopium drizzled on top.
But PaNix, I still think you're on to something. Part (or possibly all) of this is people just finally waking up.
