A little studying of lying detection clearly proves this garbage pile is FULLY aware of the public perception of him. He's shows all the signs of someone who is guilty nervous.

The interesting part (for me) happens at about the 42 sec point, if you watch he faints a breath/burp/gulp as he is talking, for me that is a tell that he knows he is lying but is a "natural" cover to this. Straight after that are a couple of more tells, right where he jokes about a conspiracy to hurt people.
A man desperately poor at covering tells despite his coaching, he tried really hard to cover the smirking smile as well, but enough comes through that if you had to put money on if he was being truthful or lying, you'd go for lying!
Yes on the gulp part. I know one of the many things of really listening to someone when you think they're lying is they do something like this, right on the lie part.
I've seen a lot of what I call a throat click. It's like you HAVE to swallow right now and it makes a click sound kind of. I've caught many, many people in this. Almost like a hesitation of breath or breath to the vocal chords.
It's my opinion he does that gulp as he is saying it and he has little control over his own body language. Given his frantic usual arm and hand waving was sort of under control it transferred to his mouth as he spoke.
I bet if he wasn't under instruction to keep his arms folded and fingers clasped, he would have touched his nose or mouth at that same point, to cover the lie, as many a teenager has done when questioned by their parents!
The hesitation you talk of with the swallow or click is definitely used to cover the spoken lie.
