This has all the signs of a true conspiracy. Suppression of facts and inquiry, witch hunting anyone who questions the narrative, memory holing stuff that breaks through their barriers, suddenly making medicines generally regarded as safe (HCQ, Ivermectin, NAC, etc.) unavailable and essentially illegal to prescribe... this entire thing stinks from stem to stern.
Also, I still want to know how and why an anti-plasmodium drug can "kill" a virus. It makes me think this "COVID19" thing is a bio-weapon. Some sort of worm made into a virus-delivery mechanism, or something even more insane. HIV and/or Herpes Zoster-as-delivery-mechanism .... God only knows what.
Both drugs, Ivermectin and HCQ have protease inhibiting activity. That is why they are useful to treat viral infections. In addition, Ivermectin and HCQ also have immune modulating activity - HCQ especially is used to treat autoimmune conditions like Lupus and RA. This is the reason both of these drugs are efficacious to use at all points along the process of dealing with Covid - even prophylactically. It is probable that those given these drugs in the hospital who are really ill can still gain some benefit from them - but at that point the viral infection has passed and we are dealing with different causative factors for their conditions. If there is still a pathogen onboard in the respiratory tract it is more than likely bacterial - that is where the antibiotics come in. Secondary bacterial pneumonias are more lethal than most viral infections. In my opinion, and of others, the original viral infection runs its course and most people recover unless they have severe comorbidities. But, almost any type of infection has the potential to take people out that are already compromised. It is the secondary bacterial infections or hypersensitivity reactions that cause someone to to degrade. And they can go downhill quickly - just like a hypersensitivity reaction would present such as in severe anaphylaxis. Vaxxines are causing many of the same problems. Much of what they are calling Omicron is adverse vaxxine reactions.
Respiratory viral infections, like colds and flus, usually clear in about a week. When I kept asking colleagues why days and weeks afterwards, Covid was still being treated like it is infectious, I would get silence and the thousand foot stare. None of it made sense and I could see the entire landscape of health care changing - and not for the better. I was in a better position to back out at that point rather than be eaten alive in the meat grinder. I am sure at some point in the future I may return to clinical practice. But in the meantime, I will continue to try and educate and help my frens on this forum. I am sure there are silent lurkers that are also learning from the posts as well. I was one of them for over a year before I joined the fray. It is nice to be among the like minded. For a long time I felt like the lone voice crying in the wilderness. It's nice to be among frens.
Good explanation, and I had forgotten that HCQ is used against Lupus.
Years ago, I almost died from a serious, serious case of pneumonia. I was given a one-two punch of antibiotics, and ... they didn't work. Had to go back for a second Xray. Doctor tells me it's over, you're good. Then doctor calls me in a panic the following day (probably more to do with his malpractice insurance than my personal health) telling me he had a consult with a friend who showed him that he missed it. It's still there. Waaaaay down at the bottom of my lung. I go back in. He hands me a scrip for three antibiotics, which I am supposed to take all at once. I look at him and say "So this tells me that you do not know what is killing me. You are carpet bombing my lungs." He actually admitted it.
The public would be shocked to find out exactly how much of medicine we are guessing at - in reality pretty much all of it is a crap shoot. Carpet bombing your lungs sounds about right. Throw everything but the kitchen sink at it hoping to save himself from a lawsuit. But, he did manage to get another opinion over your case. There was something that still didn't set right with him so he got the consult. That was probably a good thing. The treatment, maybe not so much - but since there was no time to culture, he threw everything at it trying to cover the bases and his ass. So sad to hear you are still suffering the effects of the treatment. Sometimes the cure is worse than the illness. Just to let you know, all this hubbub about Covid has caused us to take another look at supplements out there. The NAC people are taking for Covid has effects in the lungs. As a precursor to glutathione, which is a super antioxidant, it also has its own antioxidant capabilities. I have my mother taking it just as a precaution because she has weak lungs. It might be worth looking into.
Your experience sounds about right. I too am left with lingering effects due to medical procedures. Although, mine was a trade off due to what I was facing. I was hit by a drunk driver that messed my back up and set off a vascular shunt in my right forearm. The procedures I had to endure to control the situation were experimental but I really did not have any other options at the time. If they didn't get it under control, I was looking at amputation or severe disability. It saved my arm, but all the iodine contrast medium they used destroyed my thyroid and set off a chain reaction that left me with chronic fatigue. After years of investigating my own condition, it is sad to know that most of my lingering problems could have been avoided if they had just checked my iodine levels before giving me the contrast medium. I found some journal articles in JAMA and NEJM that indicated that thyroid disease can be triggered from contrast medium. Then I learned from an iodine expert that to induce autoimmune thyroid in lab animals, first they must deplete iodine from the body. How many people have been affected because of low iodine levels? Truth be known, I think it is even more of an epidemic than D3 deficiency. There are all kinds of halides in our environment, like fluoride, bromines, and chlorines, that compete with iodine. In addition, most people do not get adequate iodine in the diet. Don't think for one minute that the evil elements behind our current situation have not spent years setting the stage for this by creating toxicity and deficiency states in the population. For a country like the US, our population's health rivals that of a third world nation in many respects.
Anyway, sorry you had to experience suffering just to get better. Medicine is not a perfect science by any means, and it is populated by egos bigger than the state of Texas. It has been nice chatting with you. Good luck.
I usually describe doctors as mechanics who have half of the ratchet set and less than half of the repair manual.
Tired now, but will read this with more care tomorrow. Am sorry to read of your pain. I do think a lot of these problems are caused by our form of medical care not looking at systems as much as looking at individual processes/organs.
My understanding of the way that the thyroid works is somewhere North of caveman, and somewhere South of God. What I think I understand is that a thyroid can be "maxxed" with iodine, after which the thyroid can (temporarily) not absorb/accept any more. This is what is behind the reasoning (as I understand it) of taking iodine if one is afraid of a nuclear blast near enough to harm you. Fill your thyroid up with "clean iodine", so that when the nuked-up particles shows up, your thyroid cannot absorb it.
It seems to me that your doctors should have known this, and given you iodine tablets before the procedure.
I honestly despise most doctors at this point, because it is my view that they are not looking at systems, are seeking a quick fix that can be done with machines or drugs, and spend most of their time doing paperwork (not their fault, per se).
My lung issue is not great, but I've done other things to harm my lungs in the past (tobacco), so I share the blame. And as long as I keep to a low sugar diet, I am generally fine. Not "20 years old and strong" fine, but fine. I do appreciate the kind thoughts and bedside manner.
As for your comment about the health of America, I fully agree.
I should have also answered the NAC/Glutathione comment.
Yes I looked into this a while back and concluded that I should be taking NAC. I have not adopted this yet, because I do not want to be buying/consuming Indian Pharmacy NAC. Need to find a source I trust.
I instead opted for what I hope is a precursor, which is "BroccoMax" (Sulfurophane glucosinolate + myrosinase). Based upon recent reading though, I really need to start using NAC, as Sulfurophane is not enough.

Agreed. Nice to be among frens.

My lungs have never truly recovered, years later.
It formed a very strong set of memories, for me.
