Good explanation, and I had forgotten that HCQ is used against Lupus.
Years ago, I almost died from a serious, serious case of pneumonia. I was given a one-two punch of antibiotics, and ... they didn't work. Had to go back for a second Xray. Doctor tells me it's over, you're good. Then doctor calls me in a panic the following day (probably more to do with his malpractice insurance than my personal health) telling me he had a consult with a friend who showed him that he missed it. It's still there. Waaaaay down at the bottom of my lung. I go back in. He hands me a scrip for three antibiotics, which I am supposed to take all at once. I look at him and say "So this tells me that you do not know what is killing me. You are carpet bombing my lungs." He actually admitted it.
The public would be shocked to find out exactly how much of medicine we are guessing at - in reality pretty much all of it is a crap shoot. Carpet bombing your lungs sounds about right. Throw everything but the kitchen sink at it hoping to save himself from a lawsuit. But, he did manage to get another opinion over your case. There was something that still didn't set right with him so he got the consult. That was probably a good thing. The treatment, maybe not so much - but since there was no time to culture, he threw everything at it trying to cover the bases and his ass. So sad to hear you are still suffering the effects of the treatment. Sometimes the cure is worse than the illness. Just to let you know, all this hubbub about Covid has caused us to take another look at supplements out there. The NAC people are taking for Covid has effects in the lungs. As a precursor to glutathione, which is a super antioxidant, it also has its own antioxidant capabilities. I have my mother taking it just as a precaution because she has weak lungs. It might be worth looking into.
Your experience sounds about right. I too am left with lingering effects due to medical procedures. Although, mine was a trade off due to what I was facing. I was hit by a drunk driver that messed my back up and set off a vascular shunt in my right forearm. The procedures I had to endure to control the situation were experimental but I really did not have any other options at the time. If they didn't get it under control, I was looking at amputation or severe disability. It saved my arm, but all the iodine contrast medium they used destroyed my thyroid and set off a chain reaction that left me with chronic fatigue. After years of investigating my own condition, it is sad to know that most of my lingering problems could have been avoided if they had just checked my iodine levels before giving me the contrast medium. I found some journal articles in JAMA and NEJM that indicated that thyroid disease can be triggered from contrast medium. Then I learned from an iodine expert that to induce autoimmune thyroid in lab animals, first they must deplete iodine from the body. How many people have been affected because of low iodine levels? Truth be known, I think it is even more of an epidemic than D3 deficiency. There are all kinds of halides in our environment, like fluoride, bromines, and chlorines, that compete with iodine. In addition, most people do not get adequate iodine in the diet. Don't think for one minute that the evil elements behind our current situation have not spent years setting the stage for this by creating toxicity and deficiency states in the population. For a country like the US, our population's health rivals that of a third world nation in many respects.
Anyway, sorry you had to experience suffering just to get better. Medicine is not a perfect science by any means, and it is populated by egos bigger than the state of Texas. It has been nice chatting with you. Good luck.
I usually describe doctors as mechanics who have half of the ratchet set and less than half of the repair manual.
Tired now, but will read this with more care tomorrow. Am sorry to read of your pain. I do think a lot of these problems are caused by our form of medical care not looking at systems as much as looking at individual processes/organs.
My understanding of the way that the thyroid works is somewhere North of caveman, and somewhere South of God. What I think I understand is that a thyroid can be "maxxed" with iodine, after which the thyroid can (temporarily) not absorb/accept any more. This is what is behind the reasoning (as I understand it) of taking iodine if one is afraid of a nuclear blast near enough to harm you. Fill your thyroid up with "clean iodine", so that when the nuked-up particles shows up, your thyroid cannot absorb it.
It seems to me that your doctors should have known this, and given you iodine tablets before the procedure.
I honestly despise most doctors at this point, because it is my view that they are not looking at systems, are seeking a quick fix that can be done with machines or drugs, and spend most of their time doing paperwork (not their fault, per se).
My lung issue is not great, but I've done other things to harm my lungs in the past (tobacco), so I share the blame. And as long as I keep to a low sugar diet, I am generally fine. Not "20 years old and strong" fine, but fine. I do appreciate the kind thoughts and bedside manner.
As for your comment about the health of America, I fully agree.
You have a pretty good understanding of iodine for someone just north of caveman. Me thinks you know more than you give yourself credit for.
The problem with the way mainstream medicine thinks, that gets passed on to the public, is that we do not have nutritional deficiency here in the West. Nothing could be further from the truth. As I stated in one of my posts on this thread, the environmental halide toxins such as bromines, chorines, and especially the fluorines that many Americans are taking in their antidepressants, compete with iodine uptake and literally push it out of the body. Like Vitamin D, clinicians have been indoctrinated by their education and arrogance to think that we are in danger of too much nutrition. The only thing Americans get too much of is drugs, sugars, pesticides, herbicides, and electrosmog - all of which will rob the body of what little real nutrients that manage to get onboard. It is all by design.
I went into medicine because of what happened to me. I entered the arena in my thirties and not as a young wet behind the ears greenhorn with no life experience under their belt that could be easily hoodwinked. I had a career in electrical engineering before making the shift. (Long story how I ended up in engineering, but to suffice it to say, it was not my first choice - medicine always was my first draw.) I did not want what happened to me happen to anyone else and I wanted to understand why there are so many people like myself and you. I discovered the huge gaps in education - especially where nutrition and environmental toxicity is concerned. The more you know, right? I could see that people have been primed for certain disease states by the created underlying environmental and nutritional states. Then, unleash a bioweapon like SARS-CoV-2 and see what happens. The problem with this latest release for them is that it did not pack the punch that the previous two trial runs had - MERS and the first SARS outbreak. Therefore, the latest run has been more hype than actual pandemic. The toxic inoculations are what is continuing to drive this beast.
There are several competing agendas all working at the same time. What I think will work to our advantage, if we can separate ourselves from the contrived narrative designed to keep us in the dark, is to understand the competing agendas and pit them against each other. Find the weakness in each one and exploit it. I know Dr David Martin is hitting hard against the pharmaceutical Achilles heal because all of a sudden I have notice several hit pieces from within the so called Patriot movement against him. We have sleepers imbedded in the movement just waiting for orders and we need to do a better job at identifying them and calling them out. Anyway, Dr Martin knows the nuts and bolts and has developed the strategy of attacking the liability shield by bringing criminal charges against Big Pharm. He is in talks with several state AGs because they have been inundated with citizen inquiries about the matter. He has prepared documents with all the facts and supporting information. So, all that research work has already been done and all the AGs need to do is verify it and run with it. A class action against Big Pharm for criminal conspiracy would be ideal. Once they loose their liability shield, how fast do you think they will stop distributing their kill shots? The house of cards comes crashing down and it could bankrupt them. This could serve to be an awakening for the public into all the other nasty stuff they have been poisoning us with.
It might be a little rough at first for some, but taking the power away from Big Pharm and forcing people into other strategies for achieving and maintaining health, will in the long run, be the best for us.
Btw, it's my view that in all of the top 20 (probably top100) vitamins, hormones and minerals/metals, Americans are "Deficient" or "Very Deficient". Even the crap they sell us seems designed to do this. "Oh I'm healthy because I take Vitamin C and B12 and D and Calcium and Flaxseed Oil!" Great... the C is industrial waste, the B12 is cyanocobalamin not methylcobalamin, the D is ... well whatever it is it's not D that will get absorbed, the Calcium is not taken with counter-balancing Minerals and a fat so if you are lucky you'll just shit it out, and if you are not you'll give yourself kidney stones and/or gout, and the Flaxseed Oil is Omega 6 and not 3 and is more appropriate for preserving your wood furniture than your health. But... aside from thaaaaat....
I should have also answered the NAC/Glutathione comment.
Yes I looked into this a while back and concluded that I should be taking NAC. I have not adopted this yet, because I do not want to be buying/consuming Indian Pharmacy NAC. Need to find a source I trust.
I instead opted for what I hope is a precursor, which is "BroccoMax" (Sulfurophane glucosinolate + myrosinase). Based upon recent reading though, I really need to start using NAC, as Sulfurophane is not enough.
Sulfur compounds are great for controlling inflammation and also work at balancing hormones by neutralizing more toxic hormonal metabolites. Although what you are already taking is good, NAC is more on target and is to be considered more effective than taking glutathione alone. The body has a hard time processing glutathione supplements - therefore, taking the precursor is better. In addition, as I already stated, NAC is not only a glutathione precursor, but also has antioxidant properties of its own with action that targets lung tissue - just where you need it.
I forgot to mention this in my last reply. The NAC I use is in bulk form, pharmaceutical grade. I capsulize it myself or when I am really lazy I just put it in my tea. It is bitter though. But since I don't really like sugar or sweet beverages, the bitter taste I do not mind. I like being able to adjust the dosage when I need to and it is cheaper over the long haul. I was worried that the FDA was targeting NAC so I bought plenty. NAC still is not out of the woods, along with many other supplements. I have been stockpiling those I believe will be the most beneficial when the UN's Codex Alimentarius through the FDA lowers the boom.
This bulk NAC is made by a company called NutriVita Shop.

I was reluctant to order "Indian/Mexican Pharmacy" stuff, as for all I know what I order could show up with fentanyl in it. It's a weird world. Primum non nocere is beaten out by Kill 'Em All.
Agreed. Nice to be among frens.

My lungs have never truly recovered, years later.
It formed a very strong set of memories, for me.

Great info, thank you.
