As a former Soldier deployed to the Middle East, I say it would be wonderful to receive a letter like this. We used to get them sometimes from schools. Teachers would have their classes write us letters and some of them were great.
Yeah, I responded to a few. We would get them in the middle of freakin NOWHERE and I’d carry them around in my pocket. Made more difference than anyone could imagine.
I love this. I was recently cleaning out a drawer and found a piece of paper way in the back that was stuck in the drawer. It was one of my cub scout boys' letter to soldiers that we did about 15 years ago. I guess it didn't make it to the soldiers but it was such a sweet reminder. Those boys of mine (I have 3 boys and was den mom to 2 dens over the years) are young men now, some married, some with kids, and I miss those days. Only for about 5 min though
the letter above was on her own and below is the envelope she tried to address.
Parenting win. Good work.

We had a whole wall of those types of letters in our HQ in Iraq. I’d stop and read them often, so precious.
Where in Iraq? I spent 3-1/2 years there & travelled all-over…
