Big pharma spending makes up a big chunk of big medias ad revenue, so obviously if big media wants to retain their “sponsors”, they will go along with the big pharma narratives, such as COVID and COVID vaccines.
Supposedly there are only TWO countries in the world that allow big pharma to advertise drugs directly to consumers, and the USA is one of those countries.
Obviously this has created a huge conflict of interests, because big media has become the toothless lapdog of big pharma.
The solution, i believe, would be to outlaw direct-to-comsumer drug ads. Then big pharma couldn’t money launder their ill-gotten gains thru big media, disguised as “drug adverts”.
I suspect these drug ads don’t really make sense from an ROI perspective, BUT big pharma doesn’t mind losing money on ads, in exchange for the big media complicity in big pharma shenanigans.
How much “free advertising” has big media given to big pharma, in the form of non-stop COVID fear porn?
Pressure your lawmakers to outlaw big pharma adverts, both at the state level, and federal level
Has anyone noticed that Pfizer/Moderna/J&J choose NOT to advertise for their Covid vaccines, because if they did, they would be legally required to list the side effects.
Instead, they are paying radio, TV, et al to promote the vaccine for them. If you listen to radio, you will hear them say "this segment if sponsored by Pfizer" and then proceed to tell you that "it's a great time to get vaccinated"....
Disgusting
Why advertise when you can just buy a goverment and force your product on costumers
Ban them like they did The Marlboro Man and hard liquor.
Hard liquor ads are back.
NPR has whiskey ads
I always wondered about this. I can't prescribe them to myself so why are they advertising to me?
So you nag your doctor for a Rx.
b b but Doc, i NEEEEEEED the purple pill! I have several of the vague symptoms they mentioned!
WHEN the Hysteria passes, and it will, we've been told CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE VERY EFFECTIVE.
It's gross. The ads are mainly targeted at women as well. Especially the mental problem drugs for depression, anxiety, multiple personalities, etc. All aimed at women. Only 2 countries allow these ads on TV as far as I know and both are Five Eyes countries - USA/NZ.
Yeah. Women are easily swayed by emotions. Makes sense.
No, this a is symptom of a bigger problem. The chemicals in our food and drinks, especially our water, are the cause of many health ailments. And that itself is a symptom of not holding the wealthy accountable for their actions.
When I was a kid there were no TV ads for doctors, pharmaceuticals, law practices. Things were alot more ethical and simpler then, with the 3 TV channels on our black & white TV. Also, Adam and Little Joe Cartwright were pussies, whereas Hoss Cartwright didnt give a fuck.
oh yeah, well the wizard of oz is an allegory about the fake news media,
and we are all in the process of pulling back the curtain, and seeing (((the wizard))) for what he is.
Agreed. When Big Pharma was finally allowed to advertise their "drugs," it spelled almost certain doom for the people.
True! This is illegal in almost every other country in the world.
Need to rethink patents for drugs as well.
I like the part where the taxpayers fund the research, but then corporations reap all the rewards.
Politicians invested in pharmaceuticals...
Corporations having the same rights as individuals...
Big Pharma underwriting ALL medical and veterinary books....
Recipe for disaster
Let’s get this on ballots!!
California has ballot initiatives. Would be awesome to have California kick big pharma in the nuts with a ballot initiative
Yes! And other states follow!! Let’s do this!
ABSOLUTELY
Lawyers were not allowed to advertise either, I do not remember when that changed and ambulance chasers got to go after the actual and the possible victims. On contingency.
