There was a psychology text I read once about an old man who went to the doctor and found he had a form of cancer which could be lethal but was also treatable. He said: "Well, that's all right. Exit stage left." They called him to ask him to come in for treatment, but he responded that his wife was gone, his friends were gone, and he was ready to go. They finally got him to accept treatment, but only because that death was a painful way to go.
Yep. My grandma around same age said the same exact thing. All friends, husband, sisters and brothers gone. Literally her, kids and grandchildren left :(

If stories of beings with eternal life have taught me anything is that most will become so grief stricken they yearn for the days that they could have their friends and loved ones back, some will become with an all too powerful need to find ways to destroy themselves and those around them, and even fewer still will endure and pass their knowledge to those that are short lived, for their love is seen for the future of a people that still have a potential they no longer have.
