I challenge the notion that either the brothers or Lennon made amazing things. Really read the lyrics to his songs and think about what they mean. Same with these brothers. I question how much of it is even made by them or the others involved with little to no credit. In the end all of these works are just manipulative tools to keep the masses asleep.
The masses see a shiny story with cool effects or hear a deep story in the lyrics of a song. They talk about it, tell others about it, spend time thinking about it, and then what... move on with their life to the next shiny thing? These are distractions that cause one to think they have discovered some enlightenment. Really it is just hollow and a trap of distraction and manipulation.

Paid nothing and watched it in my own living room. Best way to watch anything really, free and at home. Like to see what the other side is pushing from time to time but would never give them my money and I sure as H3!! will not get the death shot in order to see any of their propaganda.

Just look at the quality of the Watchowski's output ever since. Not one decently written project.
Even the two Matrix sequels were crap and so convoluted they couldnt convey the deeper meanings anywhere near as clear as the original film. So did they even write the first one?

Excellent analogy. You actually grasped more than you realize. I encourage you to watch it again in a few days with the 40,000Ft mindset. It is a VERY meta heavy film, but it also shit's on nostalgia and calls people out for being easily manipulated and controlled by emotions. This movie was a normie honeypot.
Better than you expected? There was not one memorable scene or character and the movie ends right when the story should be getting going. They reunite the team and then it just stops.

What can I say? My expectations were low.
The story seems to have been setup to invite more sequels.
I myself found it ok....at best. The action is so compact and squeezed together, while in the original (and first sequel) these scenes were wide open, with a greater sense of grandeur. I found it hilarious that in a movie where they are trying to reclaim the "red pill" from the conservative/conspiracy theorists, they drop even more red pills to the masses.
Yeah it will age like wine. I actually appreciated the smaller short bursts of action with more focus on story.
But yeah I think the redpill reclaiming was to lure people in. The movie has a great message of team work and uniting against a common tyranny regardless of our lifestyles. There may have been woke characters (though that was never established or confirmed) but the movie never felt preachy. It felt like it had white hat influence.
the fight choreography was so pedestrian, especially for a movie that did it so memorably in the first one. Same with the gunplay, which is even more jarring when you're basically looking at John Wick who cant fire a gun.

The first half of the movie, and I shit you not, is literally a rehash of the entire first act of the first movie. Waking Neo up AGAIN only this time having to sit through 50 minutes of talking therapy session and including brief flashbacks to the far more interesting and memorable parts of the first movie.
The second half is waking Trinity up.
Then they kiss and the movie ends.
Like, literally the final sequence should have been the end of Act 1. The movie just stops right when it's getting started.
Absolute fucking garbage.
