For instance, whatever happened to the theory that our former ambassador was diverting USAID/IMF money to Soros organizations and back to the DNC and heaven knows where else? I think China wants to put Russia back under Soviet control. It’s much deeper than black mail imho. After the sino-Soviet split China was hostile to anything not “pure” Marxist Leninism. As for defense agreements both the US and Russia signed the Budapest Memorandum. When the USSR broke up and Ukraine declared it's independence. It had the third largest store of nuclear weapons on the planet. In agreeing to give them up and get Ukraine to sign the Non-Profileration Treaty, The US, the UK and Russia aggreed to respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and to security assurances.
