The 2nd amendment does not gives us a "right" to have guns. It merely restates our ALREADY God given right to defend ourselves. The WEAPON doesn't matter. "going after" the 2nd amendment would nothing because our rights are given by God.
This term, as it Is used in the constitution, relative to the right of citizens to bear arms, refers to the arms of a militiaman or soldier, and the word is used in its military sense. The arms of the infantry soldier are the musket and bayonet; of cavalry and dragoons, the sabre, holster pistols, and carbine; of the artillery, the field-piece, siegegun, and mortar, with side arms. The term, in this connection, cannot be made to cover such weapons as dirks, daggers, slung-shots, sword- canes, brass knuckles, and bowieknives. These are not military arms.
Second amendment states: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Websters 1828 defines "militia" as "The body of soldiers in a state enrolled for discipline, but not engaged in actual service except in emergencies; as distinguished from regular troops, whose sole occupation is war or military service. The militia of a country are the able bodied men organized into companies, regiments and brigades, with officers of all grades, and required by law to attend military exercises on certain days only, but at other times left to pursue their usual occupations."
Nay, nay? Are you a horse? Nothing whatsoever in what I posted says we aren't the militia. There are too many people on here who think everyone is arguing with them.
A look at a sampling of quotes from our Founding Fathers and framers of the Constitution may be helpful, surely they would understand the intent of the Second Amendment, would they not? Evidently you don't quite grasp the fulness of its meaning and purpose. There are 3 primary purposes behind the people's right to keep and bear arms (notice it does not specify type):
To provide citizens with the means to resist government tyranny.
To provide the means for self defense and defense of property.
For hunting/enjoyment.
"The strongest reason for people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government." --(Thomas Jefferson)
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined.... The great object is that every man be armed. Everyone who is able might have a gun."

“Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power.” — Noah Webster, An Examination of The Leading Principles of the Federal Constitution, Philadelphia, 1787

"Firearms stand next in importance to the Constitution itself. They are the American people's liberty teeth and keystone under independence ... Yeah, good luck with that. There's a reason it's impossible to implement gun control in the US. Beyond that fact it's impossible to get enough man power to actually round up all the guns, if you even tried to enforce any form of gun control, you'd end up with what happened in Kazakhstan, turned up to 11.

We ARE the militia. We have the God-given right to bear arms.

Indeed, I read your link to the definition of arms which was achieved through litigation. It presupposes the definition of militia as military.
The original document leaves arms undefined while clearly identifying the militia as "the people."
The right of the people to bear arms in case they should need to serve as militia...shall not be infringed.
Militiamen were civilians, they were not in the military.

Haha…come and take it, bitches.
Yep.
Maybe, possibly. Sounds like propaganda to keep their own population thinking about how morally superior their own government is.
But we'll see what happens. Biden has no teeth, your guns are safe.
