Slightly post-hippy here: I was suspicious of Neil Young from the beginning, because his songs were moronic. LSD-heads would leap about singing phrases and flapping their fringes. When moronic phrases become part of the lexicon, watch out for brainwashing techniques in action. I figured he was some sort of harmless CIA plant at the time, because his words kinda blotted out everything else when people heard them: they just started leaping weirdly.
At that time I was listening to the Wall, so I heard the 1984-esque message of "We don't need no education, we don't need no though control" I wandered if that was moronic and couldn't see it. So I guess I listened and started questioning education attempts. The result was that I was told I was a moron in physics class for questioning the hapless teacher, but I still got an A on the state exams, because I actually studied, so go figure.
These anti establishment hippies from the 60's forgot their roots. Eric Clapton was pro vaccine until he got the shot and it WOKE him up. He said he didn't know what happened to him and his generation going pro establishment. He finally stepped out of the matrix!
Two (of the many) things that corrupted the Hippie generation (AKA, my peers) --
First, Belief that goodwill and kindness could be created at gunpoint by Power; by the state. Giving Power to those who seek it (politicians especially) NEVER leads to anything good.
Second, the relentless campaign by the Deep State to subvert and when "necessary" to kill (John Lennon being the most famous example) those who opposed war, racial division, or anything else the Deep State wanted.
I think it feels like betrayal. Complete reversal of ethics and I am pissed at them. I loved U2 and will never spend a dime to see them again. I’ve been 14 times until I figured out Bono was a doosh bag. I never learned about him personally just liked the music. Not anymore. I can unfan a bitch in 2 seconds.
They are just useful idiots. They've always been tools of the establishment to direct the youth to do the bidding of the MIC. Rabbi Finkelstein says it best.
It's better to burn out than it is to rust. Rust Never Sleeps.
That was the last time I gave a damn about Neil Young. Keep on Rockin' in the Fake World.
I love The Wall. In spite of the fact that, no kidding, when I was in Trinidad Ca at a cabin that had a boarded up out-building with a cross painted on the door I played that album and it conjured up demonic energy and scared the shit out of me.

Now THIS is some wisdom!
Pay attention, good people. You can see this type of stuff all throughout the decades.

His wake up call came with a penalty!

I agree. What a bunch of fakes.

Found 2 Neil Young CDs on my shelf. Should i hit them a 3 lb hammer or give to Goodwill? He makes me ill.
When faced with this kind of decision, I usually go for choice #1.
If you destroy em make sure to record it
I'd burn them. However that might trigger somebody.
Give them to the salvation army.
