While that is good news, I live in Denver and haven't been asked to provide vax status or wear a mask in over a year at any place of business.
Thankfully I havent needed to go to any medical facility besides the dentist. They asked me to wear a mask but left me alone after I told them I wouldn't be able to wear one during my teeth cleaning so it wasn't going to help anything if I was actually sick.
I'm lucky if I see one or two people not wearing a mask in any store. I do see people with them pulled below their nose though.
And yet when my wife and I wanted to go for lunch in Central City in Gilpin County on Sunday the girl who was seating us told us to wear masks. I told her masks were over. She snarks not here they aren’t.
The two of us would have doubled the customer base at noon. Quite the management decision.
Chicagoan here too. Yes, it's so important. We need to remind ourselves that large swaths of the country are totally over the whole COVID thing. I will say no one cares that I don't wear a mask. It's just that I am usually the only one.
Yes, please leave the Illinois shithole. We need hardened conservatives that had to put up with communism to keep our red states RED! I often think the people fleeing the communist states are more conservative than the native population because the native population never had to live through it!
Correct. Everyone here says I should “stay and wait it out”. For what? To be endlessly ridiculed to save a city/state that is digging it’s own grave? These far left cities are in for a rude awakening as their tax money dwindles, spending increases, and problems like crime, homelessness, etc. continue to grow.
On the current trajectory, these places will be black holes, shells of their former selves that will require a radically changed (awakened) populace to rebuild. I don’t care enough about this place to follow that cycle through, going to do what’s best for my family and myself. The writing is on the wall.
Totally agree and already on it. The wife will be spending months at a time in several states this year. I want her to be happy with the choice. I can fit in anywhere.
Best of luck to you, friend. I’ve done the same with my wife but our minds are made up, we’re packing up next week. Have loved this town, had a lot of fun and made plenty of friends here, but they’ve unfortunately made it clear those with our mindsets are no longer welcome.
If you’re looking for recommendations, should check out Michigan. It’s more of a purple state, but it is one of the most underrated states in the country in terms of beauty, is nearby Illinois, and has low cost of living. I also don’t ever see a scenario like what Witchmer pulled the last two years happening again. The west side of the state is stunning with its beaches and is a super quick drive to Chicagoland if you have family here. Detroit has also done a 180 from where it was a decade ago, there’s a lot of hope for that city. Something to consider!
Thanks friend. I'm so happy for you and your wife. God speed! I like MI; we might buy a rental in South Haven area so we have an excuse to visit; lots of friends in MI. I like New-Buf too but they are overrun with Chi-town libtards My wife grew up in Chicago (Greek), so our final move will be to warmer climates; AZ, FL or TN. TN still gives me the the Midwest crossover, lol, but I have a lot of family that moved to AZ and FL the past ten years. We'll see. One thing is for sure; we're out of Chicago!!!
Adams 12 is a School district. TRI county health is a bunch of non-elected fucks that were shutting businesses down for non-compliance. It used to govern 3 counties then Douglas county votedto leave.
I am always skeptical when things like this start happening quickly. All the mandates getting dropped... even in crazy liberal Denver? I believe the truth is getting out, and if they drop the mandates then people won't "care" anymore about the truth. "Why are you telling me covid was fake? It's over. Let it go." "Why are you telling me masks don't work? It's over. Let it go." I also believe they will ramp up the mandates again later this year. It's like starting to boil the pot, turning back the heat. The next time they can boil it a little more... then turn off the heat. Then the next time....
Other jurisdictions are allowing mask mandates to expire, including Denver. Mayor Michael Hancock announced Monday people will no longer be required to wear masks or show proof of vaccination to enter Denver businesses starting Friday, though the mask requirement will continue for schools and child-care facilities.
So Denver like most libshit cities thinks its okay to abuse children and most parents are fine with it too.
I am in a libshit city in NC, we have the same problem. I have fought the school board, who unanimously votes for masks every month. I have contacted attorneys, they think the case is unwinnable. Yes I know I can pull my kids from the schools, but I prefer to take back the schools.
Will the hospitals in Denver still keep denying people surgeries based on their vax status?
There needs to be a lawsuit.
And denying nurses who don’t wear masks or vaccinate.
Probably not.

Chicago will be the last to fall.
yup. i freaking live here
Yeah, I have to leave town at least once a month for a long 5-day weekend to keep my sanity.
Chicagoan here too. Yes, it's so important. We need to remind ourselves that large swaths of the country are totally over the whole COVID thing. I will say no one cares that I don't wear a mask. It's just that I am usually the only one.
Why not try permanently? I’m making plans to move as we speak and don’t even have things fully lined up on the job front.
This city showed its true colors the last year, I’m not sticking around for whatever is up next.

Absolutely! Make it happen for you and your family. Life is too short and to be honest, in other states, Covid doesn’t even exist anymore.
Totally agree and already on it. The wife will be spending months at a time in several states this year. I want her to be happy with the choice. I can fit in anywhere.

Ill throw Portland in there too. Seattle hot second
Ooo I hope my county is next!
Wonder if this has anything to do with it?

I hope they get that bitch!
The people should recall him.
I wonder if the state gov. will follow suit ?
My Colorado city never did this and we're just fine
I bet the kids still have to mask in their schools. We have a long way to go.
Adams 12 just dropped all mask requirements. As did tri-county health.
I am not from Denver, is Adams 12 a school or district? what is tri county health?
Adams 12 is a School district. TRI county health is a bunch of non-elected fucks that were shutting businesses down for non-compliance. It used to govern 3 counties then Douglas county votedto leave.
So why wait till Friday if it’s no biggie? These arbitrary dates are fucking stupid.
San Franqlso changed its laws. I wonder if folks are threatening to sue surety bonds with the new scotus ruling in mind
Are passengers on flights still required to wear masks/show vax proof in and out of the Denver airport?
They never were! Fuck
Kids are still required to wear them in school though!
No they aren't. It's not a law!
In Denver county kids wear masks in schools.
This is not ending with the OP post - masks still required in schools and health settings.
That’s all I’m saying. Law or not your kid is not going to school there without one.
Wow, no wonder we have this issues we have. Too many people who just comply and complain.

I bet you the people who ran to comply are gonna get mad now.
Unfortunately, schools are still mandated.

They were never required.
