Just looking for insight because this has been bothering me.
I've seen a lot of images of Humvees and tanks around the US, either being moved around on trains or just sitting in a port. Then of course you have the large amount of military aircraft.
What are they for? The Humvees I can understand being used by NG, but what are the tanks for? Why are B52s flying all over the country?
Insight would be very appreciated. It's kinda freaking me out.
It's always there. Once a month people ask why they saw a 3 mile long train of military vehicles going from once place to another. The US basically prints these vehicles, sends them to third world countries and then asks for more money.
Hopefully they are getting ready for the civil unrest once the big arrests start happening.
Could be the case. I'm just seeing other places sharing the images, and it's not something I'm used to seeing. So maybe it's always been this way and it just seems new to me. I don't know.

Valid point, but I guess a better question to ask is if they're getting prepared to use it on US soil or not. And if so, why/what for?
Despite the hope that something is going to happen, it actually seems to be pretty common for aircraft to be on training flights often, as well as equipment moving around the state/country by train kr convoy, either for training deployment or rotation. I don't know that you can read anything into it too much unless the news starts reporting on it like they did with DC, which was definitely a happening.
Because we've been kicked out of Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. :>)
Even the worst countries don't want us to "help" them.
Sort of makes you proud, doesn't it?

I have heard that we are protecting our homeland so other countries don't mess with us while we clean house.
Equipment routinely gets moved around based on forecasted overseas requirements.
Equipment also gets routinely moved around by rail or truck when being ready to be deployed, or when returning from deployment.
Equipment also gets routinely moved around for maintenance and also for upgrades.
We all see the videos of rail cars stacked with tanks or other equipment, but we never see the loading point or offloading point. So its really hard to gauged what its for.
