Been thinking a lot about this. We are retired and currently living off investment income. My husband will be eligible for SS next January but I keep telling him that SS probably won’t exist by then.
We have stacked silver almost to the point that if SLV hits the 1k/oz range, we would almost completely replace our investment portfolio value - should it go down the drain. We also hold some GME, DWAC, and CFVI outside of our portfolio.
Only debt is a car payment that will be done in October. I never carry a credit card balance, but I have a small balance now that I’m in no hurry to pay off.
We have food, some cash, some junk silver, guns, honeybees, chickens and good neighbors.
I have no fear: I truly feel that we will all be made whole when this is all over. We might be uncomfortable for a bit, but we haven’t come this far to have humanity completely crushed financially. That’s not the definition of “God wins”.
I think it's a good idea to be debt-free, in control of one's finances. Not in the red.
I'm debt-free, but most of my assets have been expended. With excellent credit, I woulder should I stock up on Gold, Platinum, Silver, etc... and credit be damned. I wouldn't feel bad if I ended up owing the banks if the debt will be dissolved.
Also, I own no real estate in the USA and since I have no one to leave to here, should I buy a home looking for the mortgage to go away.

As for me, I have a lot of food stored up. I have some coins as a hedge in case money is needed and fiat is worthless. I have my weapons and ammo, and ccp. I am in a small town (relatively speaking, about 25K) and it is surrounded by cornfields with nearest metro 165 miles away, and I have cash in small bills in case people still use it but banks are closed.
I need to keep paying off debts. I need to try to buy 5-10 acres outright and get some rabbit hutches going, along with beans and something for the rabbits (and a winter greenhouse). And I need an army truck, just because they're cool.
Finally, I am closer and closer to God every day. And I need to keep sharing the invitation to draw closer to Jesus Christ.
The Federal government will trade dollar for dollar old currency for new currency. Seamlessly, then good things begain to happen. The national debt will be declared null and void.
I think Donald Trump is not going to let the American people be left destitute by the people who stole the election from him. I have been concerned about the same questions. I am at the point right now where I believe providence intervenes. I believe that the Q team has an orderly plan in place. I believe our finances will be backstopped.
Well, if I lost my job to vax mandates I was going to blow out my credit cards to stock up on shit and just be bankrupt. Looks like that isn't happening.
My biggest problem is that the majority of my assets is in IRA/401k, which could end up worthless or inaccessible. Money in the bank could be inaccessible. Crypto could easily be inaccessible if power/internet is cut off.
I have some cash and a little in silver at home, but cash could be worthless and precious metals - while obviously better than paper - are still an unknown barter value.
I do have a shitload of ammo. Problem with that is it is not portable. Even with a pickup truck you can take a few guns and a couple thousand rounds if you have to gtfo of dodge.
Of course it would be ideal to own a 10+ acre compound with a bunker but that just isn't doable for most people. I am definitely too much inside the matrix.
Great question- I often think of this as well. I guess time will tell. No matter what in the end it will be a better deal.
Welp - 401k already dropped 20% over the past few months.
I have hopes that unsecured debt will go away but that means assets with 0s and 1s will too. I've tried to diversify by holding gold, silver, cash, food, property, other metal objects and highly barterable items. It is really impossible to know exactly how the move into the new economic system will happen.
