Its not terribly hard to become a fire fighter. Its a common career choice for those fresh out of the military in my experience. You go to school for EMT which is like 1 term and then from there you move on to the fire academy which takes like less than a year. Lots of strapping, fit young men go through the classes every year! Its a great field with lots of admiration for the kind of work it entails. People will buy you lunch or coffee randomly its cool. Most of your calls are medical. You and your firetruck crew are usually the first to show up to any emergency for the most part which happens to be elderly homes, heart attacks, mild trauma, car accidents. You don’t just put out fires, that's actually less common. You are usually utilized for your medical training and if you arrive before the ambulance then you are to render care before the paramedics can take over.
I am painting a picture for folks to see that these guys are awesome, the job is just a normal job with some crazy/some very mundane days. I wouldn’t blame a bunch of firemen who said “fuck it, you don’t need me then if I am unvaxxed and you want to punish me for it.” Like the community buys you lunch, treats you like a hero and you are one, but now only if you are vaxxed. These assholes need humbled! I hope firefighters and all hard working emergency personnel holding the line take a stand.
There's plenty of fire departments where heroes can find work. Any LA firefighters who chose to leave could use the back of that suspension notification for their letter of resignation.
Typical bullshit. Basically a deferred disciplinary measure because “muh staffing shortage” that they created in the first place. How fucking retarded. LAClownyFD
I’d tell them to go fuck themselves. Let it all burn down for all I care.
I'd imagine most go into that career as compassionate for the human life at risk, and feel a sense of duty to save people.
I'd also imagine that gets in the way of shitting on your ability to save said people.
Oh for sure!

So it is a future fine of sorts? Not now, we need you to keep working, but later. LOL
I'm about ready to vote for this county sheriff to become governor.
You tell 'em! Use that bully pulpit!

And they still want us to believe this is about fighting a disease.
Less firefighters on the job, more firefighters on the side of people, nice.
