LOL Android is not worse by any measure in terms of privacy, that is just an absolutely ludicrous statement. And Apple is #1 in the US.
Apple treats you like a child, you can't disable their core functions. They record your microphone and camera input data use even when your phone isn't on.
With Android you can gut it the way you like it if you know what you're doing. Even flash a new OS if you want. My firewall blocks ALL google, fb, twit etc. domains. And I have all services disabled that I don't use like gmail, maps etc.
This is true. Currently using GrapheneOS on an Android device after full overhaul. Data has never been safer (and 5G is disabled until we learn more). Privacy and security are key in our lives, and this is the way.
Perhaps a write up for our frens here on why and how to do this is in order. Happy to see more folks gaining their data privacy.
Thoughts?
Some reading if you're savvy enough to do this yourself:

You have an unbelievably false sense of security lol. 99% of mobile malware targets Android devices, because they’re the easiest targets. If you think your mobile firewall is bulletproof you’re kidding yourself. Android is no better than iOS and in many cases, far worse.
More like, I have an unbelievably rich understanding of internet privacy. I also have adblocking enabled and JS disabled in my browsers. Only visit trusted sites, etc.
Besides, the argument isn't against hackers or external bad actors, the argument here is against the phone OS itself. Apple is undefeated, you can't stop them from recording your conversations and sending them to the cloud.
It's more popular in the US and Android is even worse when it comes to spying.
Apple and android are both fake and gay on the spying dept. why people squabble over apple vs android is beyond me
We’re hardwired for division.
And unity
Truth!! 💕

Yeah, I'm an Android user myself. On default settings it's pretty bad though, it even periodically sends your location to Google.
On default settings EVERYTHING is pretty bad. All things equal, with some tech savviness, Android is a safer haven than Apple hands down.
Exactly

Grapheneos.org
Graphene you say? Isn't that the poison in the jabs?
Why yes it is, and the fibers in face masks, too, but, for once on this site, it actually IS a coincidence.

I'm assuming OP's talking about an external firewall which is connected to phone via Wi-Fi.
I run a Pi-Hole on my home network. I can block anything I want from interacting with my phone and other devices.

I used to fix other peoples Androids constantly sucking down malware. Never had issues on my iPhones.
Is there a couple good trustworthy tutorials out that explains how to do this? I'd look it up but wouldn't know where to begin.. Thank you in advance
Do what, exactly?
