Grateful Dead - and I’m a GenXer who loves their music and has been to many shows, but now knowing what we know…

“steal your face right off of your head” (song lyrics) and “into the dark” album (touch of gray), lyrics to touch of gray are questionable… “before she knows, it’s all obscene but… It’s all right”, “the dark has not been fed in years”, Dark Star (song), etc. and apparently they played at the Bohemian Grove several times. :( Their music and culture is super chill but I can totally see now their part in keeping kids druged, numbed, distracted, and doing nothing versus their actual potential… but damn they were and are good musicians! Fuck Satan!

Surprisingly, their early stuff, and even from the 70s/80s contains references to the Lord (God, not wannabe Satan), Saint Stephen, etc.

I’ve always listened to late 60’s-mid 80’s music. I find myself questioning a lot of songs now that my eyes are open. One that bothers me most is Tiny Dancer by Elton John. I think it’s mainly because I’ve been such a fan of his music over the years & now I just don’t even know what to think of any of it anymore.
