Certain Christian sects need to drop the whole faith doesnβt require works nonsense.
Fucking, THANK YOU!!! I'm so sick of this bullshit mentality. Your works DO matter. That verse about Grace is a Paulism. Jesus said "do not judge least ye be judged" and told the story of the Good Samaritan indicating that what we do does make a difference and is important. Yes, ultimately Jesus is the judge and He will decide on His metrics which he didn't really disclose clearly for a reason.
So many Christians hide behind convenient excuses to avoid discussion and justify their shitty behavior and it need to END. NOW. If you are ending friendships over political or religious disagreements and justify your shitty behavior with "Muh Bible" I suggest you re-read Jesus and STOP after the Book of John.
Not at all, itβs agreement. As u/spiceyfries alluded, our rewards come from more than blind faith thinking God will just fix it. We must work hard to achieve our goals IN FAITH.
There is no where in the Bible spoken by God or Jesus that even supports the sit back and do nothing. Paulism, sure. But God and Jesus come off the exact opposite. God is a teacher. Not a do-everything-for-you-er.
Do I believe God wins? I believe He expects us to fight like He could lose...
I had one of those funny thought moments today. I was thinking about how in the movie Forrest Gump, he said, "Life is like a box of chocolates you never know what you're going to get." Then I thought, uuhh no God tells us exactly what we get. It's more like mad libs, God gives us the guidelines and we fill in the blanks π
God helps those who help themselves.
Faith without works is dead. https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%202%3A14-26&version=NKJV;NLT

Yes!!
I like that analogy
G-d will blast open the door once we open it just a crack.
But we still have to open it a crack.
