4chan is confusing to me and its not like I wouldn't be able to figure it out. Its an eyesore navigating which is the problem. I prefer nice visual organization. Like this site.
I understand it's weird for sure. If you ever feel like you wanna check it out again, the tips in the pic help a lot, you can also change the theme in the options menu. I have a very pleasant dark theme, that's very relaxing on the eyes

Pic above, just browse the catalog and click on the things that interest you, it has a learning curve that is pretty easy to overcome, check the site out for like 2 days and click around in the options, guarantee you'll be comfortable very quickly

I used to be totally confused by 4chan, but these days I scan it twice a day every day to get the latest. Of all the sources, /pol/ seems to get the best breaking news, once you wade through all the shit and crap.
When 8chan then voat went down I went back. It's completely flooded with shill posts. But they are easy to spot, their memes are forced (monke putin) and not organic. Most amazing was the day before Ukraine invaded it was all "Why don't you want to live?" get the the vaxx crap. After Russians rolled in, "Ghost of Kyiv", "Reaper of Kharkov" garbage immediately. The coof not even mentioned now. Once you spot the shill threads you skip them, there is still good stuff there. See this for more -

Yeah, I noticed this too. One thing though ... ever since Truth Social started sign ups, I have noticed a dramatic reduction in shill/shill quality. Both here and on pol.
And like you said, sill posts are so darn easy to spot, I can just scan through the catalog in 2 mins and pick all the fun posts without even worrying about the shill posts. At this point, the return on investment for the shill farms is negative
And when they were posting vaxx shill crap, I loved that every one of those posts used to have replies: "still not taking it" and people'd move on. Not even engage. Really hit their bottom line.
How sad is that?
It's always weird to see old screen caps of 4chan and seeing how friendly it is. Also all the tripcodes. No one gave a shit about tripcodes, at least not like they do now.

I use 4chan but 4chan, 8kun and even discord are idiot formats. There was an evolution in message board formats and then these came along. Its like lets take typical formatting and do something different, but more idiotic.

I find 4Chan a bit confusing but I am hanging in there.
35, so not old, I still visit /pol/ but it's just shills and bots now, and very little interesting. Anything substantial usually gets auto archived or outright deleted.
👋🏻 Been going to that depraved place (many of the boards not just /Pol) since 2010. Its been one hellofaride.
Trying to explain 4chan to my dear mom and then shes curious and wants me to show her how to use it. Oh my. Shes shocked when I tell her the crap Ive seen, how am I going to show this woman 4chan shes still pure 😳
