EXACTLY!!! Clif High explains all this in great detail. Im not shilling for CH but IMHO he is the number one, most accurate source for learning the “How we got here” part. The guy is shockingly accurate when he prognosticates. He RARELY datefags, but when he does, he is hyper-accurate. Its freaky.
I watched this vid from Clif, and it helped bring together some really important threads of information for me.
That said, one has to account for the fact that his views and reports are highly interpretive. By which I mean, he puts a certain spin on things that is quite subjective and which interprets the information rather than simply providing the data. That's not super obvious, because he talks about a lot of data.
This anon is a linguist fluent in Japanese and English, and I recognized from the get-go that his explanation of "dojo" and the meaning of "do" and the meaning of many of the other phrases are quite interpretive, and not so much factual as editorial.
I think that's fine, in and of itself. It's through interpretation that we uncover and build meaning, understanding and awareness. I'm just mentioning this point because it should be recognized.
So, the fact that he can shape the interpretation of the Japanese terms in a way that most people (who do not speak or understand Japanese) would not pick up on at all and simply take as fact, this suggests he's doing that with the other things he treats.
Again, that's fine. But don't just take something as fact because he says so. Recognize that this is "Clif's view of the world' rather than raw factual information.
That said, I really got a lot from this particular talk, and plan on re-listening to it.

Uh, no. He's been making wild doomer predictions that never come true for years now. There was supposed to be a massive, civilization-ending dieoff and $600 silver by year end, nada. He also lists key dates when everything will turn around and nothing happens. I still listen to him for his interesting theories but his datefagging is best disregarded completely.
He never put a time on any of that especially silver. Ever. “The great die off” he said we are in The beginning stages right now, and silver “will likely be in our lifetime”. In case you missed it, we are currently experiencing, in the UK and US, well above normal excess deaths.

Clif's theories but that is why we listen to him, he has an unique point of view on some things, and his IQ is well above 150

I don't know how valuable IQ is, but I'm pretty ignorant about it anyway, so that means nothing, really.
