So I’ve heard this go round and round from pro gun people. Some think it’s about time. Some still want permits for concealed only, open carry is non permit. And then there are those that think this is a big ploy to get “gangsta” wannabes to be legal and allow them to start carrying, to somehow make good decisions. That when they start screwing this up for everyone, it will come tenfold back in the other direction, and we’ll get the most severe gun laws you’ve ever thought of. It’s an interesting debate. I would tend to be worried about the latter, but many of these states are red states. Not like it’s NY or Illinois.
Personally I like the permits for concealed carry. I feel a person should at least pursue knowledge of carrying a gun. At least for their own safety. Classes teach a lot more than how to shoot.
Indiana's bill is on Holcomb's desk (the last I heard Friday). We'll see what that piece of crap does. I'm not holding my breath, at the same time there is so much unbelievable crap happening...anything is possible!
I was always against carry permits simply because by getting one you are supporting them converting a right into a privilege and that has been ruled unconstitutional.
Marking US Citizen on a tax form accomplishes the same thing. Or getting a drivers license, or registering to vote. These are all adhesion contracts that benefit the corporation and give you nothing.
Going Constitutional Carry instead of "getting rid of concealed carry permits may have been a better choice for your title.
Regardless of which mishmash of laws or rules there are in any particular state criminals will still acquire and carry and illegally use firearms.
See: chicongo for reference.

Georgia never required classes for its concealed carry license. Pay a fee, take finger prints and run your name through the criminal database.

I'm not against it but they should repay those of us that paid for lifetime carry permits.

Yes. And by signing whatever paperwork there is, you have consent to waive that right.

Yes, 14th Amendment citizen as opposed to one of the People.
