Thats because it is. It’s not normal to have worry, anxiety, fear etc etc
A son of God doesn’t get affected by the physical world
Well, we do if we get caught up in it. But clarity to others: there's a "peace that passes all understanding" that we have access to that is more than personal discipline. Pray the Lord's prayer, cast all your concerns to Him, be frank and open about how you're feeling in prayer, and ask for help. The Holy Spirit (a personal in-dwelling part of God) comforts you, and guardian Angels help protect you and minister to you. Read the Bible. I like the Psalms.
I like the Psalms.
That's where I'm at now, one chapter of Proverbs and one chapter of Psalms every morning. So refreshing to my soul.
Ah I'm doing the same thing and love it!!
I believe the answer is more complex that that. There are emotional, physiological and spiritual components to anxiety. Yes, spiritual disciplines are critical, but that doesn't negate the need to take care of your body and to understand your emotional response and how to manage it.
I know that most people who say, "Read your Bible" are doing so with good intent, but I think a lot of folks use that as a complete answer. I do not believe it is. The Bible deals with physical health and emotional health, so in the very least - it should be to read the Word and learn to apply the whole message to your life. This will affect prayer, worship, fellowship, treating the body as a temple unto the Lord (exercise and nutrition), understanding the purpose and meaning of dietary laws, etc.
"Read the Bible" as a complete answer fails on its face.
Bible thumpers have no wisdom either. All intellect. One must forgive and be removed from our anger, that is the only true way
I disagree. When our families are threatened by evil, it’s normal to be anxious.
You're right.
There's natural / normal anxiety... Like going into battle, test anxiety, jitters before a wedding or a martial arts competition, anxiety about a late payment, etc.
Then there is unnatural / abnormal anxiety - like phobias of non-dangerous things, having a panic attack because someone honked at you in traffic, or being anxious for no reason when everything is going well.
The first is just normal human reaction.
The second is a condition. You can debate all day about whether it's diet, mental, neurological, spiritual, whatever. The thing is it's not normal, and different things work for different people. Some use medication, others use prayer, still others use meditation. Many self-medicate. Now, there's nothing inherently wrong with self medicating. That is natural and normal. Just don't self-medicate to the point you harm your body, mind, or soul.
A drink to take the edge off? Sure. Guzzling gallons of whiskey a week to function? Bad idea. Prayer to ease your troubled mind? Great! Praying so much you neglect your family, job, and body? Probably bad.
Moderation. Always key.
The funny thing is I'm a bit of a germaphobe... but there was something not right about this whole covid non-sense from the start.
I wash my hands so much my skin dries out and my nails crack, but I know masks don't work and I don't trust a vaccine they won't let people ask questions about.
I think the best protection against covid is the same as for flu, common cold, and other infectious bugs:
Stay healthy, eat well, get decent sleep, wash hands, don't share utensils. And don't be dumb, don't kiss someone with snot running out of their nose all over their face, don't lick doorknobs or toilet seats, don't pick up rotting bird carcasses... You know... Basics.
And bathe!
Jesus was threatened and he wasn’t anxious. Try again
Son of God that knew his purpose was to die for our sins… and you’re comparing us to him? Get bent idiot.
His whole purpose was to show us how to live and return to the Heavenly Father.
Keep crying and being affected by the world then if that’s working for you lol
Yes, we should all keep ourselves spiritually focused on the things to come but sometimes we neglect the physical flesh, with the resulting imbalance distracting our spirit. (satan is HARD at work perverting our God given nourishment, just for this reason.) But who is to say that this very thread wasn't sent to someone, or all, by God, so that they may see a physical remedy to offset the work of the evil one? Remember, the LORD wants you to be like a little child, happy and without care. He is always there to take the burdens from you.
