What's so bad about being a conservative? It takes people with integrity and possibly guts, to live as what they are. If someone were to "out" themselves, that would create division. Any "hero" would have their words hold more weight by such virtue for many people, for others it would do the opposite. Their arguments or statements would be allowed to be weaker for many, reducing the need for critical thinking (in truth, increasing the need, but it would lull people into believing the opposite).
We have been trained to "trust the experts, trust the leaders", etc. Learning how to not do that, is part of the GA. Such nonanon activity would probably not help in that learning process. It is already a problem on this board with regards to the mods. Such "outting" would only make it worse.
