There has always been a natural plant for any kind of ailment. It was the way God made the earth. Big Pharma hid most of it or totally destroyed the information so you had to depend on them.
I played in the dirt and drank from the water hose. I got cuts and scrapes and put nothing on them. So I'm immune to a lot. Nowadays, if I get a cut or scrape, I just wipe the blood away with a kleenex and keep going.
Agreed! I grew up in the 70s. Always helped my grandfather in his huge garden. When the potatoes were ready all the grandkids dug them up by hand. Ran through garden irrigation to get clean, from an old pond. Sometimes when I was older I’d wash my hair outside with the water hose. I’m glad many parents are beginning to get back to that life & raising the kids in dirt.
I was raised in the 50s and 60s, back before there were any infant shots, TV was black and white with just two channels, and radio exposed people to all kinds of music instead of being restricted to narrow genres like today.
We always had a big garden, and I had to help. I also helped my mother can vegetables and also helped in cooking.
That’s wonderful! I’m from a very rural community & I think that made a big difference with me & others raised like it. I grew up a few houses down from my grandparents & great grandma. I was I still live where I was raised.
My grandma canned anything she could. She always made homemade biscuits every night & on Sunday twice. Every Sunday we had grits, country ham & biscuits before church. Biscuits again for Sunday lunch. She was born in 1926 & knew what hard living was about.
My mother made homemade biscuits twice a day. Until she discovered canned biscuits and started cooking those for breakfast and just making homemade for supper.
Mama didn't cook on Sunday morning. We always had cereal. But we had eggs and bacon or sausage every other morning.
Your mom sounds like my great grandma. She cooked great southern food. She also only cooked canned biscuits. There was always jello & cool whip in her fridge. She also served store bought canned fruit. I think she enjoyed the modern convinces.
I chewed my finger nails age 5-15, most of the time I had NO CLUE what I had touched before sticking my nails in my mouth..
I’m pretty sure that’s why I never get sick LOL
I stabbed my thumbnail and it got pretty infected. It broke off a piece of the nail and it eventually ended up on the other side of my thumb. I have been in pain before, but this was like nothing I had ever dealt with. It was very swollen, and it felt like it was on fire. It hurt so bad , I fantasized about cutting it off. Eventually I got my hands on some old antibiotics, I took them and eventually the swelling went down enough for me to lance it. When that chunk of nail came out, it was the greatest feeling I have ever felt. For wounds, antibiotics serve their purpose.
You are correct! There are some cases we might need an antibiotic. Especially if you don’t have the herbal medicine knowledge. I love natural medicine however it can be dangerous if you don’t know what you are doing.
For over five years I was in many groups on Facebook. Even certified herbalist would say there are times you need an antibiotic.
I’m the worst though & try to self treat. I recently finally had to take antibiotics because had UTI that wouldn’t heal.
Natural remedies are not the "alternative", that is a missnomer. Pharmaceuticals are either direct extracts are synthesized ingredients derived from those natural occurrences.
Sure, since I’ve been taking the cats claw I have researched. I read reviews on Amazon because people will say if supplements working. Today I read so many reviews & different conditions it’s helping.
I’m seeing a lot of people say they have trouble with links. I don’t think it’s just you.
Since posting I’ve found a lot of free pdf books about herbal medicine. I download & if it’s helpful I’ll buy the book. I prefer a real book. But glad it’s available online.
Devil's claw. Pretty much act the same. When I was shopping for horse paste I saw some pain meds for horses. I bought it and have bought 3 bottles since! I DID research it before I bought it. There are a lot of herbal pain meds on line that have devil's claw, boswellia and yucca, the ingredients in the STP for horses. Used for low back pain.
This is NOT medical advice! Do your own research.
I know, I love the people here and what’s shared. I wish we could get a section just for natural medicine links.
I’ve been using Essential oils & herbs several years. All my body products are plant based. I’m so allergic & sensitive.
Do you take at bedtime or morning? I’ve searched and can’t find this information. I’m asking because I’ve sleepy after taking. Given my poor sleep habits I don’t want to blame the herb when it could just be my body.
Thank You
I take it any time of day if I have one of my sneezing fits. I take all my B vitamins in the evening because they make me sleepy. I haven't noticed sleepiness with Cat's Claw.
I agree and disagree. I believe any pharmaceutical products are bad to use for a very long time. My mom & I are perfect examples. She’s been on pain medicine almost 35 years and it started to affect her about 15 years ago.
I started having chronic pain in 1998. Started taking what they prescribed because I was desperate.
In 2010 I started seeing a pain management doctor. I wasn’t on things like Zanex, Valium, Ambien & Narcotics anymore. I did take the medicine she recommended. I get lidocaine injections & epidurals.
Since July 2021 I’m off all pain medicine. I still hurt! I’m also a different person. I’m more alert & have it together mentally.
I believe the medicines messed up my body!
I got to the point they weren’t working. I’ve probably had most long term and short term side effects.
That’s why I don’t want ivermectin. I’m not saying I wouldn’t take it if I was very bad off.
I do take antibiotics when absolutely necessary.
Many herbs can prevent diseases.
If you aren’t aware:
Give herbal medicine time to work unless you are having a bad reaction. It might take up to six months to notice a big change. It’s because natural medicine heals. Pharmaceutical’s don’t heal. They are for the symptoms!
Many times people don’t they work until you stop them cold turkey.
I’ve had a lapse in St John’s wort & it’s like I’m a zombie, so sleepy. I started taking a tincture in December. Procrastinated in reordering & now I’ve switched to capsules.
Always research the company! Many aren’t good products.
FYI look up a Herxheimer Reaction. If you have Lyme or Bartonella in your body and don’t know it (tons of people are misdiagnosed!) you will get HORRIBLY SICK from Cat’s Claw. It is used to treat Lyme.
I saw that in Amazon reviews. I don’t trust Amazon & I know some products are knock offs. I will read reviews because many people tell you if the products are working & what they are treating.
I believe doctors aren’t diagnosing conditions properly because they don’t listen to the patients. They refuse to do test that might be out of the normal. I had already lost respect for my family doctor way before Covid. They are owned by big pharma & insurance. I had a long conversation with my dentist many years ago. His brother was a primary doctor and told him how much time is spent fighting insurance. As long as they can give pills they don’t care about curing you.

Yes yes and yes !
I played in the dirt and drank from the water hose. I got cuts and scrapes and put nothing on them. So I'm immune to a lot. Nowadays, if I get a cut or scrape, I just wipe the blood away with a kleenex and keep going.
People are treating some things way too much.

Antiboitics actually do way moar harm then good. Prove me wrong.

Wow, thanks. Good to know. This site never ceases to amaze we with the wealth of knowledge many research and dig up, and are willing to share!

Agree
It helps my allergies.

The better cure would be ivermectin (but the best cure would to not be a fag/druggie).
Hey, a lot of people are getting HIV from the shots and (probably) from being around the death jabbed.
But yeah, ivermectin absolutely rocks. I love that stuff.
That’s why I posted this. Eventually we all might know someone that gets HIV.
