Round here they do construction, builders sub it out and the subs run frame, roof and drywall paint & stain crews with them. Mostly DR Horton and DSLD. Usually have a legal immigrant running the crew and the others are networked in. Building every where down south.
Yep and it really hurt tile installers - drywallers etc who did things to a standard now it’s a guess as to the standard you get but the builder or GC makes money— trickles down to homeowners eventually when things are crap
Yep. Because all of the companies buying housing for rentals so very little to buy inventory. I home the economy goes down and catches all these ass hats.
I am not pro-illegal whatsoever - however, there is another perspective from that of famers. I know of many in the California central valley that don't intentionally hire illegals, but end up doing so in many cases... and it is not the farmer's job to go past having a valid ID/SS, real or fake. The factor not being addressed here... NO ONE ELSE will do the jobs harvesting various crops all with crazy rough conditions and long hours out in the sun. There are, of course, varying degrees that each farm looks at employing illegals and they each do their own risk assessment I'm sure... most erring on the side of requiring valid paperwork that clears the farm of any technical wrongdoing... so they aren't paying under the table and such and can show that to the best of their knowledge everyone is legal and paid (more importantly, taxed) on the up and up.
And I also guarantee that regardless of hiring illegals or not most farmers are indeed MAGA!!!
Well fucking said. And if people would stop hiring them to do their house maintenance and chores, request proof of citizenship from their contractors, the illegals would be fighting to get here legally.
The contractors who traffic in illegals are NOT legitimate business people. Such contractors are no better than drug-dealers. I'm talking about the difference between business people as opposed to scabs and scammers.
YES! Doing legit-business is TOUGH! Always has been. Always will be. Just ask Donald Trump.
Even legit businesses can have managers that screw up and hire illegals. Just ask Donald Trump 🤷♀️.
I personally think it should be easier for migrant workers to be able to get work visas. I know this is an unpopular viewpoint, but that's what I think.
We can't really use that "They're taking our jobs!" rally point, because it's getting damn hard for businesses to find US citizens to work. Someone needs to do those jobs.
I think if someone has a clean police record and can get and keep a job then they should be allowed in.
We spend so much money catching them and sending them back just so they can keep coming over again and again.
And until you can get companies and people to stop hiring illegals (not likely) it's just going to be an ongoing issue.
So either we make it easier for workers with no history of violence of crime to come here to do jobs it looks like no one else wants or we drastically increase the punishments for people hiring illegals, and raise wages to whatever it takes to get US citizens to do those jobs.
Because it's pretty clear that how we've been handling it isn't working all that well.
It’s not about employing illegals to make a profit, it’s about making a super profit or undercutting other companies that want to do the right thing and follow the employment laws.
Dr. Oz’s wife’s family hired illegals and is being fined multi millions-Asplund Tree Service (nationwide company). I still want to know what happens to all of the fines paid by Big Pharma and Big Business. Is it a show and it gets funneled right back to them? Where is the accountability?
The problem is the next business over will utilize this thereby undercutting your legit business. This is why it got out of hand in the first place. If there's enforcement it's kept to a minimum and you'll see less of this crap. It's hard to see that ever happening, but one can hope
I'd agree with you if we had sound money and didn't have minimum wage laws.
We don't need to pay $15 for some kid to sweep and take out trash or do dishes. Low skilled labor deservers low skill pay. Jobs that teach people to be responsible and acquire skills and experience to move on / up.
Don't paint with such a wide brush friend. Fix the system first.
Few illegals are earning below the minimum wage these days. As far as wages, you deserve whatever wage you can get in a free market, but by and large, we don't really have a free market. Do you think that the globalists don't control the wages?
I lived in the Philippines for 3 years 2017-2020 and low skill or high skill wages suck. Minimum wages range from 7 to 11 dollars a DAY, and most jobs don't have a wide range in pay. Many people earn below minimum wage.
Note: pre-covid they were putting in self-ordering in fast food. They typically have a huge amount of workers, and maybe 1/8th are the cashiers. So there's more going on than saving 21 bucks a shift for 3 cashiers...
Selling your labor is your micro-business, and it is rarely a level playing field.
Do you think that the globalists don't control the wages?
No, that's not mu position. I'm saying they or the government should have ZERO say in wages AND we should have sound money that they can't print without it being backed. Or better yet remove government / Fed from the creation of currency altogether. Blockchain tech has made that possible.
The broken system is the underlying problem, the wages & cost of living (inflation from unbacked currency) are a symptom and exactly how they want it. Remove their control of those 2 areas and the symptoms go away.
That’s what I think is weird…. All these illegals and yet, they are not applying or working anywhere that I’ve seen…. Walmart continuously buzzes with new “migrants” every weekend. ( know they are not from here because they wear masks, no one else in our community does). Uses cash with checkout girl, but can not count USD. Can not speak any English whatsoever and buying diapers, formula, girl baby clothes and he was at least 60 years old. So sus!!

yup, but the new house prices are crazy anyway. kek

me too, and it will!

NCSWIC!
E-VERIFY why the fuck don't we enforce it??
