I had lost interest in politics as of the McCain - Obama election. I didn't know any facts about no-name like I do now, but I just felt empty. I didn't want to vote for him so I didn't vote.
I would have voted for Cruz I think, though. It wasn't until the debate after the attempted pussy tape smear that I suddenly appreciated how cool Donald J. Trump was. The guy is a fighter. A fighter like we haven't seen in a long long time.
The demographics on this site are probable lower than me, being in my 50's.....so I have seen many more politicians than some here.
I voted for Bush, McCain, Romney....and was disgusted by them (and now much more so). I knew Trump was the only charismatic one to beat the democrats given how dumbed-down society has become.
It will always be a debate whether you vote for an elitest republican uniparty and minimize the damage, or do you help the demonrat by not voting at all.
THIS is why IMO, primaries are almost more important than the general election.
BTW, "technically" Cruz is possibly ineligible for POTUS because there is a question whether his father was a US citizen when they lived in Canada.
Kamala....too, ot is probable her parents were only on student-visas when they had knee-pads. Of course, Congress will just ignore the Constitution and change the rules.
Well, POTUS certainly didn't forget about JD Vance bashing him previously. When POTUS introduced Vance at the 4/23 rally, he literally said that Vance had "said some bad shit about me." But since we trust POTUS, we're between a rock and a hard place re: whether or not to support this guy.
POTUS endorsed a boat load of RINO pieces of shit in Texas (including Gov. Abbott) and he didn't even endorse rock star House Rep Louie Gohmert for TX AG. I didn't follow who Trump endorsed on the 3/1/22 TX primaries at all and chose fantastic candidates after intensive research. But every one of the lousy RINOs that Trump endorsed won their GOP primaries anyway.
J.D. Vance’s former law school roommate on Monday shared a screenshot of a text from 2016 in which the U.S. Senate candidate said Donald Trump could be “America’s Hitler.”
That's the year Two Thousand and Sixteen. 6 years ago.
How many millions of people who thought Trump was X have discovered, since then, that Trump is Y?
Millions. At least tens of millions. At least.
Mr. Vance has been open about his change of heart regarding Mr. Trump, whom he criticized on a number of occasions in 2016, and the Vance campaign downplayed the text Monday on those grounds as “old news.”
If I had made a public comment in 2015 about Trump when I first saw his candidacy, before I actually listened to him, for example, I would have said:
"Who is this guy? This is an absolute f*cking joke. A reality TV star running for the US presidency! This is how ridiculous America has become."
The real question is why are certain people so intensely determined to make Vance look like a POS, and have a negative effect on his candidacy? I've seen a bunch of anti-Vance comments here and there, and now I'm starting to wonder why.
I'm not determined to make him look like a POS. I saw some articles about him here on GAW and was already burning about McCarthy, which was NOT 6 years ago, but right now...and Trump is buddies with him again. I don't get that...and I don't get why he doesn't constantly burn the RINOs in Congress to the ground...by name.
Hye, JB. Yeah, no I wasn't referring to you specifically. It's a good post. It poses a question, and you include some sauce in your comments.
I really had only heard the name a few times (always in a context where he was spoken about negatively), but with your post, it was easy to follow up (using the WT report) and then go from there.
The questions you ask are questions worth asking.
I'll mention that earlier in the week or last week, I saw a post by someone that was saying that Trump's endorsement is not necessarily a stamp of approval as it appears, but a spotlight that focuses attention on a particular candidate. I'm not paying close enough attention to really make an informed comment on this, but it's an interesting idea.
I think a lotta us have seen the light on Trump.. I voted for him in 2016 but I wasn’t a fan.. I saw him like every other Republican and thought atleast he says he’s pro gun but didn’t love him like I do now.. plus a lotta RINOs prob thought Trump too shall pass and stuck by the old guard.. obviously in 2022, it’s clear Trump is the way forward. He’s fought tooth and nail against everyone to pave the way and people were just simply wrong about him in 2015/2016.. I feel like he probably needs those RINOs like you need that specialty tool in the back of your box.. it’s stupid, it doesn’t help any other job but when you need it.. ya need it and it’s shows it’s purpose that day. It’s still fuck a RINO for me but I like to hope he’s playing with a bigger picture and more information than I am.
A lot of us just voted for Trump the first time as a troll of the system. He was a loud, obnoxious outsider and we were all sick of business as usual in Washington.
I wasn't the biggest fan of Trump during his first presidency. He talked about putting together a commission to look into vaccine safety which never materialized. I assume someone got their hooks into him and he had to back off the issue.
I think Trump himself has changed a lot since his first campaign. I think once he was elected he learned how deep the swamp really was and it motivated him to fight it. He's a better man now that he knows what we're really fighting for.
I’m sure someone else has thought of this, President Trump did write The Art Of The Deal. None of us know what kind of deal making or decision making goes into his endorsements. But, even Crazy Nancy Pelosi came to realize there is a method to his madness.
Isn't redemption an important concept to Christians?
That was 2016. I was also a never-trumper then.
What made you change? Were you a cruzer?

Thank you for the thoughtful response
Jenna Ellis was a nevertrumper who now turned MAGA.
People can be wrong and can come to their senses.
there is evidence and information that Ellis was a plant, and a nasty.
Last week, she volunteered here services to defend Pedoland against the Floridian governor.

There are some potentially suspicious things about what she did after Nov 3.
Anyway, just saying, people are not necessarily what they seem.
Jenna Ellis has shown her true colors only recently fren. She’s definitely not MAGA
Not so sure Jenna is maga....Jenna is paycheck
You're right, and I guess I can buy that about Vance, but no excuse for McCarthy. That dude should swing.

Expose of Vance done excellently by Ohio Gun Owners Association. https://vimeo.com/703499990
Sorry for twat.
