Nothing fights poverty like crushing big government weenies.
Everyone crying on Twitter that Elon could have "ended world poverty" for a few billion seems to think that if you just give money to poor people, then they won't be poor any more.
It's among the silliest, dopiest, most inane concepts ever.
What really happens when you give poor people free money is they spend it.
And then the same thought patterns and resulting behavior patterns that got them where they are will still be there, and they will still be broke. It's how they view themselves, so they come to accept it as inevitable. Sad!
That's why giving money directly is a temporary thing.
Workshops to teach skills and provide opportunities to use the skills are a better investment... Perhaps instead of sending trillions overseas we could use billions here to create that infrastructure.

If this is what you get from reading this forum then either you’re not paying attention or you have horrible reading comprehension. Or maybe it’s confirmation bias: you see what you want to see.
I don't see a lot of hurr durr we sure owned those libs. Certainly an order of magnitude less of that here than there is blatantly bigoted anti-conservative hate rhetoric on garbage sites like Reddit, which is a giant Marxist circle-jerk. The left does it like 10x worse.
On this site I see a lot of people trying to understand the world we live in when the MSM is so obviously lying to us. I see a lot of people worried about their loved ones taking dose after dose of mRNA and it seems to only make them sicker. I see a lot of people worried about the pedophiles and the children. I see a lot of people concerned about corruption on the right and left sides of the aisle.
But at least the right is doing something about the corruption. The Republican Party is getting purged of corrupt globalist lapdogs while freedom loving patriots are winning primaries and elections all over the place.
It’s pretty amazing that the Republican Party that used to love George W Bush now sees him for the corrupt scoundrel that he is, and his kind are dead on arrival at the GOP. They will get primaried.
I wish the left would look inwards and see the corruption in their own party and get on with cleaning it out. They won’t do it until they realize the MSM is owned by the same corrupt people that own their politicians.
I remember when the left was anti-globalist. Remember occupy Wall Street? Where did those libs go? The Democrats have gone full globalist lapdog. The occupy wall street left and todays anti-globalist right have a lot more in common than people realize.
