I know there have been many threads on the amazing benefits of Ivermectin, but I can’t remember if skin tags was one of the issues it will fix. I have one that I would like to get rid of, and would rather fix it at home rather than the dermatologist. Didn’t know if topical or ingestion would work. Thank you guys!

They are often a sign of pre-diabetes. Might want to look into a diet change.
Pre-diabetes is essentially the medical code word for... fat.
Cut out refined carbohydrates. A doctor did a video about skin tags on YouTube. Worth a watch.
I’m pretty young and a healthy weight. I had blood tests last year, and everything came back fine
dr schols freeze off wart remover. get the one with the Q-tip applicator.
DO NOT buy the version with the METAL TIP APPLICATOR.
metal tip applicators work way too good, and its VERY easy to burn away so much skin, that it causes a blister, that opens, and causes an open sore. do DO NOT want thats to happen, so avoid metal tip!
only use the Q-tip applicator. its much safer, and much harder to cause excessive damage.
use a sharpie marker, to color the skin tag, so you can see it clearly.
use an ice pack, to pre-cool the entire area around the tag, and deep-cool into the skin, and muscle, and blood vessels below the skin tag.
after a minute or so, prepare the dr schols applicator, per directions on the box.
remove the ice pack, and immediately apply the (very cold) applicator tip to the skin tag.
use the applicator tip to push the skin tag down into the skin.
try to get a white ring in the skin around the skin tag, but most importantly, the skin UNDER the skin tag.
do not simply aim to get the skin tag itself frozen, but you want the skin UNDER the skin take to be frozen,
so that your skin will die and slough off, to below the skin surface.
if you only freeze the tag, there may still be a stump left that survived the freeze.
its generally better to over-freeze, than to under-freeze,
or else you will be repeating the process several times, instead of getting it right the first time.
since skin tags tend to appear in areas of skin friction, you may want to wear a band-aid over the skin tag for the next 14 days, as the skin heals itself.
i prefer this method, to a scalpel, because you don't actually open the skin, or cause bleeding, or infections, or other complications.
you don't under-cut, or over-cut.
your skin heals perfectly flat every time.
its discolored for a while, but eventually that discoloration fades away.
Thank you so much for such a detailed reply! I think I am going to give it a try
Depending on it's shape you can do a DIY ligation using dental floss. Will take several days, but will eventually die and fall off. Doctor's say it needs a neck thinner than the head, but I've seen it done on thick boi's before and it worked. May leave a slight mark but nothing compared to surgical removal.
Skin tags are more of a mechanical problem, don't think Ivermectin will help.
I just cut and have a bandaid ready. Larger sized one and your method is amazing.
Skin tags prevention. Intermittent fasting, make sure you are not pre-diabetic. Eat cleaner food, consume less booze and caffeine.
Yeah, I had a number of skin tags. I think I also had gout. I had to crawl up and down stairs at home. I started fasting 16 hours per day. Wish I can say I hit a solid 16 everyday, but I hit at least 12 now. I have been doing this for years and it helped a lot of things. IBS, Skin Tags, Inflammation, ...
I have thought about just taking nail clippers or cuticle scissors and cutting it, but I get cold feet and back out 😂
Sharper small scissors check. They tend to bleed, yet not hurt. Keep everything clean no matter which method. Keep clean.
Like old timers castrating dogs with rubber bands! YEEOUCH!
Clip it off with toenail clippers and put a bandaid on it, that’s what us country folk do.
I tried to do that, I’m just a wimp and got freaked out 😂
I can understand that. One fast, hard, clip and it’s gone! Good luck to you.
I have used plain old thread successfully- tie it tight at the base of the tag, and tighten a bit everyday. The tag will “puff up” before drying up and then just falling off on its own….a trick I learned from my mother-in-law who had many to deal with. No scarring, no bleeding, no side effects.
Oh good idea! I might try that
I've come across your posts a time or two today, and was quite taken by the thoughtfulness, consideration and awareness represented by your words.
Sent me looking for your past post, it's a way to gain insight into someone, hope you don't mind.
Anyhoo,
I came across this one and was curious, what ever became of that skin tag?
The nail clippers sounded brutal, tell me you didn't.
Was the iodine successful?
It’s ok! Sometimes I creep on people too if I find them interesting 😂 I was off work today, and it’s been raining here so been laying around posting the hell out of this site today lol. And no, I never worked up the nerve to do it. I thought about trying compound W, even bought some but then read that if you don’t do it correctly, there can be major issues. I ended up calling my doctor and getting an appointment for mid June for her to check it out and remove it 😂
Might be wise, the dr. I mean. Just don't let them give you a clot shot..lol
So creeping is what I was doing? Glad to know there's a word for it.
I'm old school blue collar, live in the country, my phone is only access and it's only about half smart. So we're learning.
You are an impressive young lady.
We need Patriots like you.
Keep up the good work.
Haha yep, creeping on someone is when you look at their online history to see what they’re about 😂 the word sounds bad, but it’s not used in a derogatory way. And yes, I’ll never ever get vaxxed! I only go to the doctor for things I legitimately need and don’t let them do any more than what I came there for. They don’t like that part very much, but oh well. And thank you for the compliment, I try my best ❤️
I'm feeling like a creeper already. :-)
We had our torrential deluge over the last 3 days in central Bama, even the garden snakes are doing the funky back stroke threading water. Weird weather pattern, harrp at work I guess, along with grand solar minima.
Even farmers like lazy days, however few and far between. I'm planting couch potatos I think.
Just be you, then there's no need to try.
Hahaha couch potatoes. And yes, we have had tons of rain lately too. And yes sir, I plan to
Topical is what is used in many cases re animals, and also the ingested. Get the paste and put it on. And ingest some also, 3 -5 days. Super duper whammy. Don't forget the vite C D3 and zinc or quercetin. Let me just tell you that during the last 2 years of using Ivermectin, I have had skin things disappear (eye dr said I was getting warty things around my eyes, that would keep growing, charming, eh?) and I did, and I was very aware of them and irritated! Well.... they be gone now! I have seen several posts about people's skin tags going away so I think it is worthwhile for you to try this.
I thought I had seen someone in a different post talk about how he applied it topically, and it had gotten rid of a patch of skin cancer he had. I am going to try it and just see
Not sure - probably wouldn't hurt to try. I understand that liquid Iodine helps with skin tags as well.
Ooooh, I actually have some liquid iodine here! I’m going to research that now
Skin tags are a byproduct of glycation of the skin. Usually it's a sign of diabetes/pre-diabetes.
To resolve the root cause, it would be alot better to get on a low/zero carb diet like keto/carnivore(much more effective and sustainable from personal experience) than to treat the symptom.
My skin tags all disappeared after i tackled my diet by removing 95% of my carb intake.
Lots of guides out there! Just need a little digging. Hope it helps. 😁
I really hope it’s not diabetes bc I’m pretty young and in decent shape/not overweight. I’ve had blood tests within the last year, and my sugar was good. I DO eat a lot of carbs though. I am on the skinny side and eat a lot of carbs to keep my calories up
If you arent fat, it could just mean that your body is not genetically adept at turning excess blood glucose into fat, hence there are skinny diabetics.
Skinny fat people who are diabetic/prediabetic tend to have fatty liver. Would be good to get it checked out to better understand your body if it doesnt cost too much.
Also, our body is not a furnace. Calorie counting while somewhat relevant, is not very accurate. It is better to understand how insulin and glucagon work in instructing our body to burn/store fat, and how to manipulate both thru diet to store/burn fat.
Just try it
