And just like that, Tesla was delisted from the S&P500. He did call it. Now let’s see what Elon does to the SEC…

Tesla is not delisted from the official S&P 500, but a separate list by S&P that categorizes companies that are "ESG" (Environmental, Social, and Governance) complaint. This is a way for corporate lenders and bond sellers to rate companies on their compliance to the Paris Accord or pay higher corporate lending rates.
It's like a social credit score for public companies. By being delisted (which is bullshit by the way) he doesn't get favorable borrowing terms which impact his bottom line.
Yeah, title wasn't accurate.
Sounds like a badge of honor to get ejected from that list.
My company is spending way to much time trying to comply with DIE initiatives and environmental wokism. We should just ignore that shit and make money.
He's not globalhomo enough.
Lot of commie fan boys will lose a lot of money.
He's either:
or
Maybe he should buy the SEC
That's the S&P500 ESG index. Basically only woke companies
"Lack of a low-carbon strategy?" Did I miss something or is Tesla an electric car company?
Nope. You got that correct
could be possible the resource requirement to produce 1 tesla vehicle, could it not ?
how much energy and "polluting" activity is needed to produce the battery raw materials alone ?
Sourcing and manufacturing the battery is terrible for the environment, but they would never use that as a metric because all of the car companies use those batteries for their electric vehicles, and the government is all-in with every car company that produces an electric car except Tesla. They wouldn't want to admit that their darling EVs are worse for the world than fossil fuel-powered ones.
of course. I'm just trying to think of a way mainstream could justify the removal
S&P 500 ESG Index, not the S&P500.
ESG is just the woke people index anyway ala Larry Fink of Blackrock's bitchass
holy cow!
They are eating their own climate change darlings.
💥 ☄️ 💥
Go Musk! You don't want to be part of that ESG bullshit anyway.
From this day forward, any charge of "racism" without clear, compelling, objectively observable evidence should be treated as an overt act of racism.
Those who engage in the tactic deserve to be ridiculed, mocked, scorned, criticized, jeered, verbally attacked, excoriated, shunned, ostracized, marginalized, and utterly de-legitimized.
I can get behind this
LOL lots of hurt feelings regarding Musk.
He is getting ready to expose the SEC. Didn’t they say they would investigate the transaction of twitter being sold to Musk? This is his way of saying, “Bring it on!” If the SEC refuses to investigate Twitter for potential fraud, that will tell you something about the corruption and collusion between a Twitter and the SEC.

What benefit does a company receive by being one of the S&P companies?
The S&P500 is basically the largest 500 public companies in the USA, and the S&P500 index is a weighted average of those companies. The advantage of being in the index is that a lot of mutual funds track the index, and they only buy stock in companies that are in the index. So when a company gets added, there's usually a huge cash flow into that company's stock, and the price rises. Likewise, when a company is removed, there's a huge cash flow out of that company's stock and the price falls.
That being said, OP was not clear. Tesla is removed from the S&P500 ESG index which is an index of woke companies. This index is not as popular, and as such, the effects of being removed are much less.
Thank you very much!
the ESG index is very precisely the Soros Club, that's not surprising.
