I think there is a lot of bad messaging with this one. Saying we want the right to carry to protect freedom is terrible communication.

I never use the word freedom because it doesn't get the point across correctly.

Whenever someone asks me why I support gun rights.

I respond by saying "It's not gun rights" to me.

We need to return to the original meaning of the words as-written.

Training needs to start in 7th grade. First year is gun safety. Piggy backing on American History and the Constitution. The why.

Eighth grade is gun safety, BB and pellet guns, paint ball, learning about all the different kinds of guns. The difference between cover and conceal. Paint ball courses. First aid.

Ninth grade is gun safety, actually shooting on the range, 22 caliber and 25 caliber rifles. Moving targets. Skeet shooting. Advanced first aid. Can be gym class.

Tenth grade is gun safety and shooting larger caliber hunting rifles, hand guns. Obstacle course with pop up targets for breathing, adrenaline control, when not to shoot. Can be gym class/off campus.

Eleventh grade is gun safety, competition shooting programs, long distance shooting and/or between schools. Gym class/off campus.

Twelfth grade is gun safety, three gun competition shooting, biathlon ski and shoot, etc. Gym class/off campus.
