Genuine question (absolutely not a call to arms): why do we not see or hear about political assassinations or assassination attempts ever anymore?
How is it that we have people who, every day, are so disgruntled with something that they're willing to give up their life or freedom by taking their own life or taking the life of someone else, but never do any of these insane people blame a politician enough to make them their target?
I just don't understand how there isn't a larger overlap between people who blame politicians for all of their life's woes (a huge group, nearly everyone) and people who are crazy enough to be willing to completely give up their life and freedom by taking their own life or taking the life of someone else (people commit suicide and murder every day).
Why do the relatively common "terrorist" attacks of modern times not ever seem to target politicians? Why do they target grocery stores, schools, subways, marathons, skyscrapers full of business people, etc.?
I just don't understand. The secret service is not super-human, and they're surely not as tight as they're depicted in the movies. And many high ranking politicians don't have constant secret service protection, or even hired private security.
Are all the attacks fake? Surely it can't be. Do they intentionally hide assassination attempts? That would make sense, as if they make it seem like it never happens, it's less likely to happen (I firmly believe that school shootings happen more frequently when we broadcast them, because potential shooters realize it's a feasible thing for them to do). But how are none of the attempts successful? Like I said, many politicians don't have very good security, or so I thought.
They're receiving threats like never before. Trudeau has switched to a fully armored car recently instead of his stupid bus and he's always moving with a truckload of bodyguards. He knows they're hated, Singh knows it too. I think they enjoy that because they're mental fucks.
Yea, I'm sure they're receiving threats, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about attempts and successes. Why do these never occur?
Sure, Trudeau and Biden and other very highly ranked officials actually have proper security, but you still don't even see attempts on these politicians. And lower ranked officials (even US senators) have little to no security most of the time, and you never see attempts on them, either.
If anything, the fact that there are so many threats just makes me wonder even more why there aren't more attempts. The threats show that people are clearly very upset with the politicians, and the other "terrorist attacks" that occur show very clearly that there are people upset enough to give up their lives and freedom. So why no overlap?
I'm not sure why exactly you're so hung up on Trudeau here.
But that still doesn't answer my question. The people I'm talking about instead chose to shoot up subways, grocery stores, mosques, schools, etc. Did that effect change? So if these people are stupid enough to think through it and realize that shooting up a random building of random people will have no actual effect, why are they somehow rational enough to think assassinating politicians is futile?
because if you have the skills and are sufficiently organized, you're 0.01% of the population, and 99% of these people work and have a family. That leaves you with 2 people for 40 million citizen, and they're currently out fishing. Also good luck extracting yourself from such an attempt ; that means you're ending your life in jail no matter what. Not very motivating.
You don't need to be skilled or organized to attempt an assassination. In many cases, I'd argue that you don't need to be skilled or organized to pull it off.
And yes, most people care about their lives and freedom enough to not give it up trying such a thing. But there are clearly a ton of people out there who don't. All these shootings, murders, and terrorist attacks are happening by people that usually know they're giving up their lives and freedom by trying it.
Just look: why would the NZ Mosque shooter, who clearly spent a significant amount of time planning (getting those guns into NZ isn't easy) shoot up a random Mosque. Why wouldn't he go after a Muslim politician, for example?
Why would the Buffalo shooter shoot up a random grocery store? He supposedly planned significantly, too. Why wouldn't he go after a black politician, for example?
And the same is true for the opposite side. I was in middle school when Obama was elected. I naively thought that white supremacists were as big of a thing in America as I was taught. I was convinced that he would be assassinated. He wasn't.
It's almost like white supremacy isn't a real threat to Americans and all of these shootings are staged. Or rather, I personally believe that these shootings happened, but then the backstories were filled in after the fact.
Because the DS and NSA monitor way more than they're supposed to.
Maybe, you should also ask why most mass shooting are hoaxes or ff? Why aren't there legitimate mass shootings or acts of domestic terrorism? How do cops continually bust X pounds of drugs with a "random" traffic stop?
I don't subscribe to the idea that the DS and NSA are superhuman. Evil, yes, but they no amount of money and manpower can monitor stuff so closely. It's just not possible. The level of sophistication required would be like nothing we have ever seen before; definitely not something the government is capable of.
Remember, nobody really knows what's going on, and we're all kind of faking our way through it. This goes for you, your coworkers, your bosses, doctors, lawyers, judges, politicians, law enforcement, etc. Nobody has it so tightly together that they can recognize every potential political assassination and intervene in time.
To have an actual eye and ear on everyone at once may be impossible, but technology to keep a database of everyone- which they can then use to get details on any individual...that's a different story. Hell, look at what just the average civilian can dig up on someone if they just used what's available to the public.

Does the Biden we see actually have secret service protection?

I'm not sure you're understanding my point.

"Are all the attacks fake?"
You pretty much rhetorically answered your own question.
Who can or would do is monitored and controlled.
Everyone is.

It's entirely possible.
