Look, nobody has an "absolute right" to own anything. Unless you find it in the street or receive it as a gift, you have to PAY for stuff in order to earn the right to own it.
People on "welfare", i.e., living off the fruits of the labor of others, don't have an absolute right to any of it, either. They're getting away with it.

You paying for something doesn't mean you don't own it.
You had to exchange something for the ownership of it. You still own it.
Now if you want to talk about government being able to "legally" confiscate something as "evidence" or whatever, that's a different story.
