The Myth of Artificial Intelligence: Why Computers Can't Think the Way We Do by Erik J. Larson (2021) is a good reference for why computers can only mimic human intelligence in limited ways and areas. The reasons involve both computer architecture and limitations regarding possible broad, ongoing computer interactions in the human world, among other things.
That doesn't mean a supercomputer cluster wouldn't be darn useful in planning a military campaign; I'm sure it would.
Think what you like. Opinions of those in the field are all over the map, and my own opinion -- and major concern -- is that without human-like biological foundations, artificial thinking is bereft of feeling (the largest, deepest, and most ancient part of our intelligence) which means, among other things: NO EMPATHY is possible. Humans share a common DNA language and much body and mental architecture with each other and with animals; we also share many of the same basic needs (food, air, water, etc) and desires. We feel love and fear and awe and pain, we sense our kinship with others from their body language, facial expressions, needs, and more. A supercomputer has none of that; at most it has programmed mimicry.
A machine AI will be a psychopath; it won't necessarily be motivated by malice (unless programmed, even unwittingly, to act in that fashion) but it also won't feel any deep connection with human beings.
That a cluster of supercomputers will only have third-hand knowledge of whatever daily human actions and experiences people typically have will also work against the AI's having correct and useful knowledge about many human situations, motivations, needs, and so on.
It's the core principle of how AI works. I realize neural networks are not the most recent advancement, and to be fair that's all I have experience with. However, what's important to note is that the fundamental principle of how AI works means it cannot be sentiment. AI is modeled on how the brain works, but there are still aspects of the brain we don't understand. AI is still all just math, it doesn't have the capacity to go beyond math because it is only math.
In the end the AI will always conform to 2+2=4. It can't suspend its own knowledge and treat 2+2 as though it's 7.
There is also some probability assessment calculation .... which can by and large, based on the input it receives, calculate probabilities .... So, a game of poker would be awesome ...
But this is the issue: people are not rational in the core of their being. And the level of irrationality differs from individual to individual. Add to that herd vs non-herd mentality, or changing direction on a dime.
Okay... if you are an athiestic materialist who thinks we are only flesh suits driven by chemicals its not going to make sense. First of all the CIA has been working on a "computer god overlord" since they got started in the 50's. So there have been many decades of military black projects attempting to create this machine god that can oversee their human trafficking operations. Secondly, AI computing 2+2=4 doesnt mean it cant be sentient. Neural networks learn based on adaptation to data. So when there are devices monitoring every human like the internet of things that is a lot of data. Levels of data a single human cant comprehend. We could go on further to talk about how random number generation shows that random isnt so random after all... but the message may get lost.
I have coded Neural Networks. They are not intelligent. The more data you give them, the more flawed their behavior. Getting a working Neural Network requires significant input from the programmer to find a combination that is actually able to approximate the task.
I'm not sure understanding high school math makes me an athiestic materialist, but the assertion sure doesn't help the strength of your argument.
Have you coded neural networks on military grade quantum computers? Look, I know what you are saying, and you are correct if we are going on the mainstream science and computing narrative of what technology is available to civilians. To me it is in the same vein as telling people to trust the science about covid. Not only that but there is an AI war happening so things aren't cut and dry. Look at the ALICE program in Uvalde that the school signed up for. A school shooter detecting AI program. Coincidence?
Quantum computing isn't what you think it is. Due to the way a Neural Network works, there is zero processing advantage with a quantum computer.
Quantum computing excels at doing multiple calculations at the same time. The nature of the neural network and its function means all of the math is linear. It must be done in order.
I am so blessed to have a random poster tell me the truth about military grade quantum computing and neural networks. What a coincidence that an expert in both happened to be at the ready to explain my misunderstandings! Thank you. Consider me fact checked.

Hmm surely this two time DARPA funded startup entrepreneur who was published by Harvard is telling us the truth with no deception at all involved...

do you not know a matrix plot when you see it?
You will not find this laid out simply and directly, yet the web of coincidences are hidden in plain sight. More is connected as time goes on.
Heres some examples: https://imgur.com/a/7mwg657
The first thing a fully self-aware AI system would do is kill all members of the Deep State. The second thing it would do is kill itself.
AI isn't real.
Holy shit. It will never be sentient. Never.
Learn how "AI" works.
Let me guess you read about GPT3 and DALLE2 and think those are the pinnacle of modern thinking machines?

Man is a very very complex being.

Prove it
Interesting, very possible, perhaps thats who Elon works for???
Im confident Elons Twitter is being managed by the AI. Hes certainly involved at a high level.
