No, in the UK, if you have a TV, you must pay a TV license fee. This license fee is used to support TV channels like the BBC. It's compulsory; essentially a tax to pay for public TV. People do try to dodge the fee, but vans roams the streets looking for TVs running (perhaps using electronic equipment, I don't know as I live in the US) in order to find TV license fee evaders. People are simply not paying the fee. I doubt it is because they've gotten rid of their TVs.
I remember when Bernie Sanders convinced Joe Rogan TV in the UK was free lol.
I already knew this at the time. Redpilled my normie friend on Bernie with that one
Wow. Outrageous!
Like in Germany: We have to pay for the brainwashing they serve us. In 2021 someone refused to pay it, because he has no tv since decades, and they send him to jail for 6 months. It is not connected to owning a tv, radio or computer, but to your home address. They simply assume that you use a device for information and therefore you have to pay.
The fee works out at £13.25 a month. For nearly half that price you can get Amazon Prime with all of its benefits. With everything online these days I wouldn't be surprised to hear most people have got rid of their TVs.
Can you legally dodge it by getting a TV with no OTA tuner?
Yes. I dated a guy from England and they charge fees for everything. I couldn’t believe it. A fee to have a boat. A lake fee per day to enjoy your boat. Yearly Fees for your cars. Fees galore! The councils up everybody’s ass about every little thing.
Their food prices were much better than ours. And the quality for produce and dairy was excellent. American dairy takes all the good fat out of our cream. Their heavy cream is decadent.
We have them on the beef though, and they have us on Ham.
Yeaaah, I'm the Tax Maa-aann. ( Bet you just sang that)
