My wife found this in her FB feed so I just had to share:)
"I know I shouldn’t have done this, but I am 83 years old and I was in the McDonald’s drive-through this morning and the young lady behind me leaned on her horn and started mouthing something because I was taking too long to place my order. So when I got to the first window I paid for her order along with my own. The cashier must have told her what I'd done because as we moved up she leaned out her window and waved to me and mouthed "Thank you.", obviously embarrassed that I had repaid her rudeness with kindness. When I got to the second window I showed them both receipts and took her food too. Now she has to go back to the end of the queue and start all over again, Don't blow your horn at old people, they have been around a long time.. "
I think she would've made a better impact had she just paid for it and let her have it. This is a certified own, but she only owned her. She could've owned the evil spirit animating her. Meh
Sometimes you need to punch a bully in the face. Or get a whip and kick out the crooks from the courtyard. This kid got double duty. Felt bad/embarrassed for being rude, and then got shown the teeth people sometimes forget we have. The kid certainly looks at old people differently now.
Garbage people are pretty easy to spot. People who bad mouth the elderly (to themselves) like cowards out of pure selfishness should have to chew the gum wads off subway platforms. It just ain’t right.
I totally agree, my mother (67) was coming up to a traffic light that was turning yellow. When she slowed to a stop, the two cars behind her honked their horns and sped around her. The first one went through, the second stopped next to her and started screaming at her through her opened windows. My mother just turned her head away and looked out the other window. My children were in the back and my daughter asked what was happening. My mom calmly told her it was okay. The lady realized my mother had children in the back, she changed her tune real quick and started apologizing to my mother. My mother just nodded and said it was okay. She said you could tell the woman felt terrible and my mother didn't have to say a word🙏🙏
My gosh, where in the world do you live that two drivers would try to pass a car stopping at a red light?! That's insane.
Come drive in St. Louis, certain parts of the city the streets are not far from the Thunderdome. Traffic laws are merely an inconvenience you shouldn't burden yourself with. I've been honked and screamed at because I didn't roll through a stop sign fast enough for the jogger behind me, apparently 5 mph through a 4 way stop intersection isn't fast enough
They do it where I live too. It's a recent phenomenon...NYS.... plus the people that stop at a stop sign until they think they've waited long enough and just pull into traffic.... a while flipping off the person beeping and screeching their brakes.
Wow, garbage humans.
this sounds like los angeles
I would have taken the good part of the order and left her with the fries and mustard packets.
I don’t think so.
At first I was "yah" but after I thought about it I agree with you. "You can attract more bees with honey" or "kill them with kindness". In the temporal world she really "showed her" but from a spiritual aspect this probably wasn't the right thing to do. Maybe the older lady is not a Christian so she didn't have that point of reference. Nonetheless it was a pretty ingenious way to get back at somebody. Nowadays you have to be more careful with strangers.
I believe the saying is "You can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar". You can catch even more with manure, and it makes me wonder why you want to catch flies. Just sayin'
Yeah, who would want flies...or bees. Sometimes sayings don't make all that much sense...especially when you get them wrong.
That's what I've been trying to figure out since the first time I heard that expression. What will I be needing those flies for? 😂😂
Pepe?
For dinner?
Yep. "owning people" < "owning their bad behavior"
