145 AUSTRALIA: Interesting story and frankly a distrubing one. "Feral bee colonies to be destroyed". Sounds like they're trying to destroy the food chain. And is there such a thing as a 'Feral bee?' Sounds like another bullshit excuse to start shit 😠(youtu.be) posted 2 years ago by DiveAndBait 2 years ago by DiveAndBait +146 / -1 36 comments share 36 comments share save hide report block hide replies
Seems drastic. Just passed it onto the natural beekeeping group I'm in, will see how they respond. With rage, I imagine.
Yeah, I'm not an apiculturist and I'm outraged! I get mad when I see someone go out of their way to kill a bee.
With all of the other creatures that could kill a human that populate Australia, a 'feral bee' seems like low fruit.
No, the concern here is that 'feral' bees can be breeding grounds for bee disease, for bad natured and aggressive bees, etc.
The character of a bee hive colony can vary quite a lot. Some hives are very friends, easy going, others can be aggressive, and destructive.
Can't wait to see the reddit response to this lmao and how it's magically the right decision after years of bees keep the world alive posts.
