Who fucking rides a bike ON the fucking beach?! Riding a bike in sand is immensely hard to do. Clearly this was just a photo op and she probably only rode it 10 feet or so.

Reminds me of the butt-gig photo op where he was driven to a cabinet meeting. Then he got out, ss got his bike out so he could ride his bike there.

It’s actually common in SC. I made the mistake of riding a fat tire single speed on the beach for the first time in Hilton head with the wind at my back. It pushes you along so easy that I rode for a couple hours before deciding to head back. As soon as I turned into the wind I realized that I was screwed.

A fat bike would handle the sand no problem, as it also handles snow and ice.

Rode a Century (100 miles, all paved roads) NEAR the ocean and saw some dude riding on sand tires. We were about 50 miles into it. Wonder if he made it.

It's not too difficult on moist sand. I may have done it once myself, and when I was in South Carolina 2 months ago, I saw people doing it there too. It's just really bad for the bike.

It's all mechanical; what you'll have to do is clean and lubricate the chain and probably the rear derailleur at a minimum.
They commit enough crime, they can hire a bicycle mechanic for a day just to clean these bikes that won't be used until the next photo op
