The important thing is you cannot turn these people around. Arguing with them is fruitless because they don’t want to see the data. They will only come around when the people they trust change their position.
This is why we need to focus on protecting doctors who speak out.
We have family members in that mode and this is spot on. Facts from close relatives don't matter, just people they hardly know or don't know at all, but for some reason trust? Hard to understand.
Programming. Done in school and through ‘amusement’ devices.
Success in school means you are good at following orders and regurgitation of data.
Says the C and D student? :p
jk, the statement is true to a degree; but I did well in school yet suck at following orders; lasted 2 yrs in the military. Too much of a logical, analytical freethinker unable to overlook the robotic idiocy with which the fedgov operates at every level. They definitely don't want my type LOL
On the job, I won't work for a jerk. I do what's necessary to make that coinage and do it well. But act up, get too pushy or authoritarian, too drunk on your power trip, and I'm letting you know about it in no uncertain terms, putting you on notice. Then if you don't shape up pronto, I'm history. Key is to be not so easy to replace.
A compliant worker/consumer.

They'd sooner believe some talking head over a 10 year old having a heart attack 5 days after getting the clot shot.
sOuRcE?! "Here you go." Then they proclaim it isn't good enough... Hahahaha
Social acceptance. Some believe the most evil shit for fear of being chastised on any platform that they would sacrifice anything or anyone to get that social acceptance endorphine rush.
These people are the definition of cowardly and completely unable to process anything outside their self-imposed paradigm. They "know" they are right, even when they're left (wrong).
