American living in Russia here. You know that thing where you're extremely weird if you pray in public in America? Here, maybe some people think it's a bit weird, but a LOT of people are touched, sometimes to tears, or themselves say a prayer too. May the Lord Jesus Christ save us all!
Here's the thing: your own government is working against your interests, don't expect any other government to be working in your interests.
That said, our interests can align with others in a number of ways, so there's always a possibility they're aligned here. I just would never bank on it without a much more clear indication.

Jesus Christ alone is the savior of mankind.
Maybe Jesus is manifesting as the Russian military.
