Aw man. A week ago today I lost my 15 year old yorkie Baxter to liver cancer and Wednesday my rat terrier passed away. Been a shitty week and the last one standing out of our pack is my 18 year old half blind and half deaf chihuahua Chips.
Yep, can't wait to see my pups Sydney (Aussie/ Chow) & Regal (Lab/ Greyhound). Had a great dogs life in the Colorado mountains- even treed a few black bears along the way.
Oh, and my kitties (too many to list) who periodically would bring me a "prize" or two (startling as they were all indoor cats?)
Sorry for your loss Amber. I know it's hard losing puppers, they are special and part of the family. We lost our 13 yr old Great Dane the day after my bday in March. Had her since she was 7 weeks old, she was a rescue.
Over the years we have had boxers, GD's and now a pit/rottie mix and pit. We like the big dogs. The smallest dogs we had were the boxers, at between 56 & 65 lbs. Our danes were both over 100 lbs (female 135 lbs & male 150 lbs), our pit/rottie is 100 lbs and the pit is still a puppy of 5 months and just weighed in just over 60 lbs.
I’m So sorry it’s never ever easy no matter what prayers for healing and maybe another new pup will come to y’all someday ..I’ve lost so many through the years just lost one as well I have English labs chocolate is 7 and we just got a new black pup - they don’t replace but it’s helped me heal over my last best best friend — dogs are the best ever
So so sorry. We love our dog so much, and loved our 14 year old Golden. He passed away a about 5 years ago now. Such a sweet sweet creature. Dogs truly are a gift from God.
Lost my Chihuahua years ago. His pictures rotate on my computer every day and I talk to him everyday. It was very difficult for weeks when he went. Now I have my girl Chihuahua.
Just got a sympathy card from my vet with both my dogs' names on it. I have half a mind to take it to the vet, find the "triage" nurse that barely glanced at my dog, and tell her to cross her murderous name off my card, thankyouverymuch.
Chihuahuas rock. Right now we have Sugar and Gypsy. Josephine went to the Rainbow Bridge last year. Before her went Rosie, Tess, Roxanne and Scooter. And, last but not least, our little Chica. We miss them every day.
I’m sorry for your loss. It’s been three years since my boy passed at 15. He was one of many I’ve been through this with. Haven’t had the heart yet to get another one although hubby tells me it’s time.
I want a lab. Don’t care what color. Hubby wants me to get something smaller. I think he’s afraid that their toenails will ruin our oak floors. I really don’t care for a specific breed, a mutt is a wonderful dog and I’ve had many, but I do love a lab’s disposition.

My little Baxter and Nelly's photos will be making an appearance tonight on Shannon Bream's show during their nat'l dog day segment.
