Yup. It's identical. But 1917 wasn't the first time either. I think it might be that all "plagues" and most wars (possibly all large wars going back at least 2000 years) are the same people. I've found evidence that supports that statement for most wars, and some plagues. Who knows how often they have done this?
Clif High read a section from a Saxon chronicle from 4000 BCE where the writer lamented that someone was poisoning their river and kidnapping their children. This has been going on for millennia.
It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.
They were not easily moved,
They were icy - willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.
Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.
It was not suddenly bred.
It will not swiftly abate.
Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

I've heard stories that right before the Black Plague people in odd dress were out at night doing something with the crops.
Were they spraying their food with poison?
Probably poisoning wells. Who was it that didn’t get the plague? What was the given reason why?
